He is currently in an MFA program at a major international university.
An interesting companion to SICK, this is the story of a main character while she is separated from the narrator. Obviously a quick read (I would have finished it in less than an hour if I had a full hour to spare in the past week), in future editions of SICK, these chapters could be interwoven into the main book but that could take away from some of the suspense. However, if they ever made a movie, it would be a nice addition to get an alternative perspective.
If you have not read either SICK or PANIC yet you may want to read them at the same time and based which chapter to read on the chapter title times.
A fantastic addition to Tom Leveen's Novel Sick! This is told from Laura's point of view and gives us a better idea if the events that original unfolded from Brian's POV from the main novel. Very fast paced and full of action and gripping all throughout. Definitely recommended for the "Sick" fans out there. Pun intended.
What I Did Like: -Ending. If you watch this channel or read my reviews you know what kind of endings I like. Let’s just say you may not like the way this one ends, but I did. -Pacing. This one doesn’t waste time. It starts fast and moves faster. -Horror and gore. I don’t always like zombie books (something I mentioned when I first rated Sick back in 2018) but this one works. The graphic descriptions of the attacks may make some people squeamish, but it definitely adds to the horror.
Who Should Read This One: -Fans of Sick (obviously). -YA Horror fans. -Zombie fans. -Anyone who wants to dip their toes into YA Horror or zombie books (because this is only 59 pages, so it’s a good one to try it with).
My Rating: 4 Stars. Horror fans are going to love this one.
