Tom Wilson is the author of the phenomenally popular cartoon Ziggy, which is syndicated internationally in more than 600 newspapers. He lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with his two sons and is president of Ziggy and Friends, Inc. Wilson is also founder of Character Matters, a branding and marketing firm.

Some days you lead a life of joy and accomplishment, and on others you find a Ziggy book from 1975 in a Little Free Library. I personally prefer the latter.

One of my favorite factoids is that Robert Crumb worked for Tom Wilson when the Ziggy creator was creative director of American Greetings in Cleveland. Apparently they got along, and there's even some Mr. Natural-like gurus who appear in a couple panels here.

Ziggy is really down in the dumps in this collection. Still, it has its funny moments, as this cartoon caption illustrates: “The only place I don’t feel like a loser . . . is on the bathroom scales!!” There is always something to enjoy with Ziggy.
