I loved this story of a mischievous heroine rescued from a slave market as a gift for the hero's fiancée and becomes a servant in her household.

Number 80 in the Masquerade series. I also prefer the UK cover for this novel rather than this version.

I was going to give this NO stars, but I had to give it 1 star so I could write a review. This was a very distasteful topic (slavery). The attitude of the main characters I guess reflected their time. I wonder who liked this book when it came out in 1981. I read two chapters and had to jump to end to see how it ended.
