A fine art book surveying the works of mid-20th Century American "magic realism" artist Jared French - it's fairly inclusive of the majority of his finished works, though some are necessarily not represented or lost. French has a fascinating life story as well, as a member of a very loose affiliation of like-minded artists heavily inspired by the exacting, luminous egg tempera works of 15th century Italy and Belgium, all of whom seemed to be queer and who all slept together, with lots of ensuing drama that's only hinted at in the text. Good stuff; amazing artwork.
