***Review contains spoilers!***

So it starts with Elizabeth going to Netherfield because Jane is sick like in canon. For the first few chapters it was pretty much a retelling of the Netherfield events (How it came about that both are there, what was done, etc.. but as soon as Elizabeth found a little book on Kama sutra, (Yep.. Kama Sutra, dirty Darcy ;-) ) it got interesting because she started sleepwalking.

********* Spoiler Ahead!*********

Let me tell you Dear Readers, she's brazen while sleepwalking but in the day rather prude. That's also what get's her into trouble. I do have a complaint about Elizabeth's character though, it was said she is rational, and from this book she knows or could imagine how babies are made. She could find herself in this predicament but vehemently refuses Darcy 'I don't want to marry anyone.'
And yes, she got pregnant, refused once again.. Couldn't she see the first time it's the right thing to do instead of saying 'He would be lying about sleeping with her only to marry her.
I'm all for having her own mind, and being equal, woman's right and feminism. Just in this case it was almost a bit too much.

I almost felt sorry for Darcy, but fortunately she finally said yes.
If Mrs. Bennet would have known about refusing Darcy so many times, ohhh.. Lizzy better take care.

So, overall it was a good book, I enjoyed a quick low angst read and erotica now and then too.
In my opinion it was also well written.

Btw, have I mentioned that Wickham is himself maybe in the story for 2 pages, the rest is only mentioning. Woop Woop!

So, have fun reading!

a new twist on Elizabeth’s forced marriage

This is a new twist on Elizabeth’s force marriage which was so entertaining I could not put it down.
Elizabeth’s tendency to sleep walk gets her into trouble and by trouble I mean she finds her way into Darcy room. Oh the possibilities, sigh.
This is wonderful and worth the read.

I found this variation one of the oddest I’ve read. I’ve read about 30. I love erotica. This tries to be erotic but just isn’t because of the situation involving said erotic acts. Lizzy is a sleepwalker and at various points along a timeline that sort of flits between a cannon timeline and the authors own pacing, Lizzy starts having incidents of sleepwalking into Darcy’s chambers.
To be fair to him he does try to resist, but not all that hard and various things happen. Lizzy has seen a book that Darcy’s Indian servant has given him, the Karma Sutra, and her dream state is fixated on that. So she wants kisses, she wants head and she wants Darcy to stop resisting her so hard... that’s not the only thing that’s hard for Darcy. These scenes are dub con at best. Now I don’t mind dub con as long as there is some sense that the characters at some point are actually consenting by that of inner thoughts, murmured words of encouragement. Certainly for period stuff where the lady has no idea what’s happening to her dub con can work. This I was uncomfortable with. Lizzy doesn’t remember any of her actions and hates Darcy, as far as I can tell, outside of her sleeping self.

Spoilers*

Lizzy mounts Darcy during a dream and she rides that pony. Then she’s pregnant. She still doesn’t want to marry him, we’re about twenty pages off the end of the book here, then they have chat, Darcy tells her about her dreams, they compromise and all is happy families.

Shame the pay off scene of their marriage night doesn’t happen. I’d like to have seen an awake an aware and consenting Lizzy.

There’s nothing wrong with the book, it’s well written but sometimes the structure is a little jumpy. I can see the love the author has for her subject but the journey inward is as important as the journey moving forwards. I have x3 of your others books to read so I’ll review them. Good luck, thanks and I’m sorry if this is a little harsh in places. It’s purely my taste.

Contradictions

I love sensual P&P variations but I don’t like any mention of Mrs Bennet or Lady Catherine mixed in the storyline. Ugh!
