Begum Bilquis Sheikh was a a member of the noble Muslim Hayat Khattar family, an author and Christian missionary. She is known for her high-profile conversion from Islam to Christianity, following a series of visions and prophetic dreams. She told her life story in the book, "I Dared To Call Him Father" (1978), a 25th Anniversary edition was released by Baker Publishing Group in 2003. The book was co-authored by Richard H. Schneider and provided a foreword by Catherine Marshall.
I enjoyed this story and it really lines up with what I have heard - that very many Muslims come to faith in Jesus through dreams and visions. It is a pretty quick read and worth the time.
Bilquis Sheikh shares her story of coming to know God, and how she felt his presence in the garden surrounding her home. Laying on a hammock surrounded by a garden here makes me feel like I can step into her story in one small way - from Canada to Pakistan.
Wow! I don't know what to say. Someone once said "when the student is ready, the master will appear" This master appeared to me in 1995, I was a young christian, hungry & eager to learn. It was a tiny book lying on the floor at our local church. I was playing indoor soccer with other gals. I picked it up, read the cover, put it back there, picked it up, paged it through the 1st, 2nd pages, put it down, picked it up, that was the end of soccer and any other project that was coming up. Never put the book down once except if I was sleeping. My faith elevated. I have no words, read the book for yourself, the lady wrote about her journey.
