The Book of the Underdog is an engaging and subtle book on strategy and life tactics. I was pleasantly surprised on the lessons delivered here about bosses and and they crawl their way to the top of the food chain. Truly the most versed book I've read on carving your career (from my perspective as a real estate developer)
This book teaches you covert and overt manipulation used every day by bosses, managers, developers and politicians. It has a useful chapter on the psychopath. The author correctly identifies the psychopath boss that you have.

I put this book in the same category with The Power of Habit by Duhigg and Mindset by Carol Dweck. It is more applied theory, however. I learned about how to manipulate my boss, too...it's more than the hierarchy of needs.
A POWER book, as the author puts it. Beware, as you read it, you are in deep waters. It will change your life. It will make you better. Truth to power, this is the book the CEOs DON'T want you to read

Recommended reading. The Book of the Underdog is not for noobs and the faint of the heart. It has some of the best strategy and tactics for the office (if you're climbing up the ladder as I am). Must read for the up-and-coming boss.

This book is very good read, as it puts the power struggles in the spotlight. It taught me how to fight the power brokers. It is more Main street than Wall Street.
The Book of the Underdog is more mindset than Harvard Business Review, Fox Business News and Squawk Box CNBC all put together. Goes well with the Showtime "Billions" if you know what I mean.

I fount it compelling and very practical. That's what I liked about The Book of the Underdog, the practical advice. No bullshit and praising the hustle like the others.
This book flows effortlessly giving me the right advice, right moves, right tactics, and right motivation. You're not going to fall into your boss's traps anymore.
