Jack Daniels Thriller
Jack Daniels Stories Vol. 2
In a previous collection, Jack Daniels Stories Vol. 1, I included all of the Lt. Jacqueline "Jack" Daniels short stories that have been published in anthologies and magazines throughout the years.
This book is something different.
In 2016, Amazon tried an experiment called Kindle Worlds, which allowed other authors to write stories in my universe using my characters.
Because I enjoy collaboration, I co-wrote stories with a select few of these authors. I had a lot of fun, and got to work with many talented people, some of them old pros, some of them rising stars.
This resulted in over 1000 pages of good stuff featuring Jack Daniels, Phineas Troutt, Harry McGlade, Chandler, Hammett, and Tequila.
For the first time, these stories have been compiled into three new collections.
Vol. 2
JACKED UP (with Tracy Sharp) - Jack teams up with former repo girl Leah Ryan.
FLOATERS (with Henry Perez) - Jack and Chicago reporter Alex Chapa form an uneasy alliance.
BABYSITTING MONEY (with Ken Lindsey) - Jack and PI Gavin English investigate a slavery ring.
RESCUE (with Ann Voss Peterson) - Her codename is Chandler. His name is Tequila. Things are going to get hot.
A GAME OF POOL - The long-lost missing section from Bloody Mary.
SUCKERS (with Jeff Strand) - Harry McGlade. Andrew Mayhem. One million bad jokes. And vampires.
If you are a more sensitive (or adventurous) reader, this handy scale rates specific categories from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest) to give you some idea if this is your kind of book.

Entertaining mystery relationship listening 🙃👩🍳

This book has a number of short stories about Jack Daniels and friends. Each story is different with interesting characters lots of action, misdirection, and violence leading to each conclusion.
I would recommend this series and authors to family and friends relationships adventure thriller mystery novels 👮🕵

Jon Konrath has written many stories about private investigator Jacqueline Daniels, commonly known as Jack. In this book he has teamed up with four other mystery writers, sharing a chapter with each of them. On the whole, there’s only one chapter I liked.
Most of the others read more like hard-core porn than mystery. Some were supposed to be funny, but I found them to be third-rate humor. “Rescue”, turned a chase between two of Konrath’s characters from different series into a gymnastics competition.
The first chapter referred to a purple Bentley. A few paragraphs later it states “probably not a standard color for Rolls.” Bentleys and Rolls I not made by the same manufacturer.
Later that chapter mentions a character is running for mayor and says “He’s from out of state, only moved here a few months ago.” I doubt if there are many places where somebody who’s only lived in the area for a few months can run for mayor.
The one chapter I liked, “A Game of Pool,” is by Konrath and has a nice O. Henryish twist.
Tidbits:
“The newspaper industry was dying, slowly, painfully. The Chicago Record, my employer for the last 15 years, was just like all the other rags that had gone terminal before anyone realized what was happening.”
“Junk. Then, it’s all junk, isn’t it? One person’s trash, another man’s treasure. Buy a box of cereal, keep it unopened for 30 years, someone will pay 500 bucks for the toy inside. Crazy world, right?”
“Mankind is the worst thing to ever happen to this planet. Our exploitation of nature disgusting. Animals were on the earth before we were; they’ll be on the earth after were gone. And as far as I’m concerned, that won’t happen fast enough. The world is sick. We’re the disease. I’ve killed more people that I can remember, but it never hurt innocent animal.”
“I’m a psychopath remember,? I don’t have to make sense.”
“You know what, Phin? Sometimes a person does need advice. They just need a hug.”

This is volume two of the Jack Daniel's Storeis. Instead of being Jack Daniel's stories they are Konrath collaboration short stories. I've read a few of these before but some were new to me.
Jacked Up (with Tracy Sharp) - Leah Ryan runs into Jack while trying to repo a car. Meh, Leah's character didn't interest me, okay story. 3/5
Floaters (with Henry Perez) - Jack and Alex Chapa work together solving murders. 4/5
Babysitting Money (with Ken Lindsey) - Jack works with Gavin English for some quick cash 3/5
Rescue (with Ann Voss Peterson) - Hammett and Tequila run into each other in Europe. If you aren't familiar with Codename Chandler you probably wouldn't get into this. Egh, wasnt a fan of Tequila and Hammett pairing. 3/5
A Game of Pool - Apparently this is the actual ending to Bloody Mary, loved it! Great twist and I always enjoy more Jack/Phin backstory 5/5

Another great collection of stories featuring Jack Daniels, Harry McGlade, Phin, Tequila, Chandler, & Andrew Mayhem. Collaborating with other authors these stories are shorts in the kindle world (which I can't read the other books because they are only on kindle or nook & I own neither) Hilarious, interesting, and great continuation of characters. I will be looking up the other authors and see what print books are offered.

Always a great read
I am completely hooked on this author. All of his books are entertaining, full of adventure & have a few laughs thrown in. I never leave spoilers so I will just say this is a great book, but don’t take my word for it…READ IT.

Another Jack Daniels and Associates Anthology
Jack Daniels, along with Harry McGlade, Phin Trout, Tequila, and other recurring characters are featured in this short stories collection. I love the humor and suspense these stories contain. Recommended.

Love this series!
Everything about Jack Daniels and Associates rocks and I can't imagine why Suckers isn't a movie with Bruce Campbell and Timothy Olyphant.
