About the author

I have been a fan of stories for about as long as I can remember, but I did not start writing down my own stories until I was well into my 20s. I currently work as an elementary school librarian in a Minneapolis suburb and have a great life hanging out with my wife and two kids, taking vacations with them whenever I can, and writing as much as time allows.

Read this book so that I could recommend to students. I liked the story, organized well and I know some students will like it. A good hi/lo book for the struggling reader. Would like to get more like it in the library.

Choosing this book to read was ok. About this book that I didn't like was that it was a bit too short that the book came to an end so quickly. Also, dislike this book because the book was based on only 1 day. But then out of all this book is more like a mystery book because the guy saw weird things when he looked out the window of his house. The morning the guy was wanting to go fishing at the raven lake so then he goes to the lake and sees a hole, he looks at it and didn't know so then he didn't bother it. So when an old man told him a story about the lake that was cursed every 25 years. They guy didn't believe it. So then on that night, he was trying to sleep. But then he looked out his window and saw deer. He thought that the deer was just gonna drink some water but then he saw three weird looking things. He then stopped looking and turned away he went to bed and tried to go to sleep but then he couldn't fall asleep.

My second graders love these “scary” books! As a 48 year old of course it is silly but I think it is great for kids. The book does introduce some words they are unfamiliar with but has a glossary in the back.

the book was short and it was about 1 day at raven lake. The book was okay but i don't like how it was just 1 day at the lake because he went fishing then he saw something big in the lake he thought it was nothing but when he saw weird looking rodents and the old man told him a story about the lake that it is cursed every 25 years. He still didn't believe so then at night he look out the window and saw deers he thought they were just going to drink water but then he saw 3 weird looking wolves. He started getting scared and tried to fall asleep but then he heard a scratching on the door it woke him up and it was only 9 pm mid night have not even started.

Hi-lo mystery, easy reading level, with 15 year-old protagonist, good story.
