This book was a departure from her customary quilts embellished with applique. These were all pieced.
She writes "Pin Points", boxed within the text, to explain in detail how to make quilts like hers.
One hint I picked up is, when sewing on a drawn line, like when making half square triangles, us an open toe foot so you can see the lines clearly and sew a scant 1/4 inch seam.
I also finally grasped what a "chubby 1/16th" is- it's one fourth of a fat quarter. You cut the fat quarter (18"long x 22"wide) in half crosswise to get a fat eighth (9" x 22"). Then cut that piece in half perpendicular to your last cut to get a piece 9" x 11". Whew!
My favorite project in the book was a pillow called "Star Blossom".
