PanOrpheus is the author of the 'Delphic Oracle' series of books...in the alternate history, fantasy fiction, metaphysical genre. The books in the 'Theoclea' series are generally set in ca. 500 BC, and feature the adventures of Theoclea, the Oracle of the Temple of Delphi. One of her teachers was Pythagoras...and so we have a rare moment when Spirituality and Science were brought together...the ultimate person who 'Sees' meets the ultimate person who 'Knows'. Reincarnation, visions, poetry, and other means are used to keep the action going.
The Phoebe' books feature Phoebe (The Delphic Oracle) and add spice and humor to the plots as Phoebe and her friends enter modern times, and intervene into fictional and non-fictional lives and events. His latest book is 'Songs and Stories from Tesla's Tower.
PanOrpheus is on the Board of Directors of the Phila. Tesla Club and the Tesla Science Foundation...and the inventor Nikola Tesla or the Spirit of Nikola Tesla are characters in some of the books and short stories.
A new book 'The Antikythera and The Source' will be coming out next...

From the ancient Greek Gods to the Egyptian Sphinx. Moving in and out of time, from 500BC to the early twentieth century. From Egyptian Crypts to Frank Sinatra in a Jazz Club, this complex Sci-Fi tale keeps surprising you with the unexpected time and time again. Magic, History, Science, and Mystery. The Delphic Oracles in Egypt and New York and the heroine Phoebe, the Spirit of the Third Oracle of the Temple of Delphi. A tremendous amount of research went into writing this book. Both complex and challenging, but quite a rewarding read. I give it a full five stars as I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Having read several books by this author I know what I am going to get and once again this book does not disappoint! They say that genius and madness are close bedfellows and I hope the author won't be offended if I say he is a bit of both. How he comes up with such brilliant but slightly mad stories is amazing! He effortlessly combines loads of factual history with tine travelling science fiction. Another fun and informative read!

Historical Fiction/Fantasy with Loads of Humor from Dry to Bawdy

With a penname of PanOrpheus, this author has a lot to live up to. Pan is the god of the wilds and friend of the nymphs. Orpheus is a legendary Greek musician, poet, and prophet, said to be able to charm anyone with his music, even stones. While I can’t guarantee that The Delphic Oracles in Egypt and New York would charm a stone, I found it both humorous and thought-provoking.

The book is filled with references to people and events that cut across time and space in odd and unpredictable ways…like spotting Sinatra singing jazz in 500 BC Egypt. Or traveling in the company of an Oracle who played on Broadway…leaping lizards! Or discussing the connection between computer software implicated in the 2016 election and Egyptian embalming fluid. Say what? The implications of some these happenings and sightings seem clear; others are a bit of a mind twister. And when you tease one of them from your gray matter, you start wondering – what else have I missed. (I never did figure out the importance of Mallville, PA, for example.)

I also enjoyed the author’s sense of humor, which ran the gamut from dry to bawdy. I’d quote something from Phoebe at this point, but it might be difficult to find much without a four-letter word or two…or three. (And I’d like to keep this review family-friendly.) Humor is so central to this book that if you eliminate the final Interview between the Reporter and the Mage, it can be seen as a buildup for a play on words. At that point, it had me groaning…in a good way.

As for downsides, there were few and they were minor. First, the formatting of my ebook version took some strange twists. While that didn’t affect the story per se, it was distracting in places. Second, the book introduces a lot of names at the beginning – some real or close to it, others are total fiction, and several are incarnations of someone you’ve already met. It can be confusing. It does come together but checking out the author’s biography on the Amazon book page also provided some helpful context.

So, my recommendation. Read The Delphic Oracles in Egypt and New York. Like Phoebe would say, it’s a d@#& fine book.

The author, PanOrpheus, led me through space and time on an amusing mystery. As usual, he mixes little known facts throughout his book. Besides being entertaining this story is also educational. Let me give you a few examples. During the story it is claimed that Moses took a chest with him when he left Egypt. It contained the electric power of the pyramid… I just read that some scientists believe one of the pyramids may have been used to generate electrical power. Next, how many of you know the story behind Wewelsburg Castle located in Germany? The author links the German SS to the castle just as what happened in real life. For my last example, who knows the legend of the Nephilim? I’ll say no more – read the story to find out. The tale moves very fast and keeps you guessing until the very end. My hats off to the author. I highly recommend this book.

You'll travel with PanOrpheus's vivid imagination into mysterious realms and read adventures written from his creative mind. You'll read of ancient mythical spirits and the spirit of Nikola Tesla. You'll travel into Egypt ca. 500 B.C. and New York in the 1940's, the author's knowledge of history will shine.

You'll laugh at PanOrpheus's modern Mark Twain-like sense of humor. The author's sense of humor is one of the many ways he keeps you entertained in this original work.

It's a well written book, unique story, which deserves five stars. The story is a Great Read and would make a creative movie!
