Photos by Heinrich Helfenstein, Valerio Olgiati and Mira Blau. 2000 numbered copys worldwide. About the Valerio Olgiati (born 1958) grew up in Flims and Chur. While studying architecture at the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, he built his first house (Haus Fiala in Chur, 1983-84). For his ,green house" (Haus Kucher in Rottenburg a./N. 1988-91) Olgiati was awarded special mention of the German Price for Architecture. He ran an architectural office in Los Angeles with Frank Escher from 1993-95. In 1994 and 1995 he was awarded the Artist's Grant of the Swiss Confederation. In 1996, after establishing himself in Zurich, his compelling project for the school in Paspels won the first price in the architectural competition and was built between 1996 an 1998. His most recent project is the renovation of the ,Yellow House in Flims". Since fall 1998, he is teaching an the Federal Institute of Technology as a guest lecturer.
