Planet Earth has destroyed itself, but The White Witch took pity on the Mavaho Nation who worshipped the Gods and lived in the old ways. She led them through a magical gateway to her own world, Satiren, so they could make a new home. But they hunted the mysterious Ne’Shuwa, the source of all life on Satiren and the planet almost died. Two groups of survivors were left, the white-skinned mountain people known as the Crystalites and the black-skinned Mavaho’s who lived in the desert. They never mixed. Kai was hidden away by the White Witch when she was a small child for her own protection. She is the only one who can save Satiren, but she must find Tokala, the young Chief of the Mavaho’s to help her. Kai is angry at being lied to all her life, so she refuses to help and tries to escape, but an encounter sends her reeling through a gateway onto the desert of Satiren. She is alone, she doesn’t know who she is, the desert heat is burning into her skin and there are only seven days left until Satiren is turned to Darkness.
