Simplified version that my 11year old daughter & I read in preparation for seeing the show. I appreciated the simplicity of better understanding details of the story line. Obviously some disconnections from simplified but it helped me understand more. And I’ve always wanted to read the original but I don’t really have the patience excited to see the show again & see if it changes anything for me

not entirely sure if it was this edition, but what I remember is: I read Les Mis as a kid. And it was NOT the original text because it was around 200-something pages long and it was most likely simplified for childish audiences.

I also don't remember the exact year/date I read this, so this is just an estimative.

I remember reading it (again: as a kid) and thinking "ugh, i hate this book, why is it so sad? only bad things happen in this story!"

and well......... was I wrong? lol

Read this as a family - kids from 7-11 engaged in the story and were riveted throughout!
