Teralyn Mitchell is a new author to the contemporary romance scene who loves creating unique, multi-dimensional characters who face everyday issues that her readers can relate to. She writes the kind of books she likes to read whether they are about twenty-somethings living in the city or princesses and princes trying to find their way in the world.
She moved back to her hometown in the south a few years and is currently living in a full house, bursting with love, laughter, and chaos. When she’s not writing, you can find her reading, watching sports or reruns of her favorite sitcoms.
This is a first read for me by this author and I really enjoyed it. The pacing was great and the story was interesting and definitely had my attention throughout.
Between Two Moons is an captivating and engaging love triangle between two best friends and their new roommate. The story was well-written and all three main characters were sketched beautifully.
All in all, this was a great read with believable characters, a good solid storyline, and plenty of sexual tension. The characters felt real and who have to work for their happiness. I very much look forward to reading more from Teralyn!
Oh me oh my, you guys know I love a good love triangle, right? Plus, when it involves the catchy ‘roommate’ fun between a bromance? Can we gush me more please! Seriously, I read the synopsis and this one hooked me instantly.
One of the best parts, before I go on, is that this love triangle is told from all three characters involved: Wren, Zane, and Jax. This is something you don’t always see, generally you have the couple who will ultimately end up the HEA, but no, this one, it was all three characters. I will admit this, I was on the fence, or rather back and forth with the characters on which I liked more, or which I wanted to see win the girl but honestly at different parts they all hit my heart. Wren was such a sweet gal. Her personality was so likable, it was easy to connect with her on a mental and emotional level. As for Zane and Jax, ah they hit me rough and easy throughout. At one point, honestly, I disliked Zane. I don’t know what it was, but something about how he acted rubbed me wrong but then as his character developed more into the plot I started to really like his personality more. And Jax, well let’s just say I liked him and then there were times I liked to hate him. His attitude guys, I also felt he acted very childish while Zane was the more mature of the bromance. Nonetheless, I liked how these two resolved their issue when Wren decided between the two, it had a certain level of respect.
Now, the romance itself is a slow burn, at least in my opinion. Setting up the triangle to finally get the guy Wren falls for is deliciously slow torture. Obviously, I am not going to throw out spoilers, but it did become very blatant who Wren would choose and by golly when they collided – HOT! Especially that moment of misunderstanding? The argument? Then that passion? Oh my lant
However, while we are discussing the romance itself, there was a slight pet peeve I had throughout that I noticed – I felt like the story and plot really flowed well with the overall dynamics however as the feelings started blending I would have liked to see more angst. The passion is definitely there, tension filled moments, but I felt even some of the scenes were lacking, semi skimmed the surface on the angst. I am not saying there were not any angst moments nor were the moments anything less than sizzling when they occurred, but just some of the most heightened tension filled scenes sometimes felt less enticing than they should have been.
And let’s not forget the side characters. Oh my stars, can I just admit I love Sophie? Like I feel like her personality would be so fun to have, she is caring yet hot headed, hilarious and fun, yet really grounded. I also loved her involvement inside the triangle, really plays the feelings between parties while adding her own possibilities into the mix. I really look forward to seeing what comes with this side character as the series develops. Then there were Wren's sisters, can we just say YES? I loved the sisterly love that occurred, I cannot wait to see all these ladies in action.
Overall, I really enjoyed Between Two Moons. As a beta reader, there were tons of changes, ideas and dynamics that have evolved and seeing the final product is amazing. The characters were multi-dimensional, the dynamics of the relationships tied so beautifully, and the outcome was realistic, which is something I always want from a romance read. I like realistic drama and endings, whether sad or happy, it needs to be believable and I felt Between Two Moons capitalized this attribute. I definitely recommend this one to anyone who likes love triangle tropes, it is so enjoyable, once things got started it was a great page turner.
And as much as I enjoyed Between Two Moons, I am beyond excited to see what else comes from this series. There are so many trope possibilities and I am looking forward to see where Teralyn Mitchell takes these characters.

Going into this book I thought cause of the concept it would be chalk full of major drama (I mean plates flying drama) and angst but it fell short of that totally for me and I was disappointed cause I felt all the material for a rollercoaster was there but it just never took off. Wren moves in with best friends Jax and Zane and they both want her, she picks one after innocently dating both and even though the guys had tension between them I was hoping for much much more and in my opinion this book was very mild in the heat level which was better then Wren banging everyone lol. I wouldn’t have minded the mildness (and given the flow of the book it worked) if it had more angst. But overall the book was good just to timid overall for me but I did enjoy the characters and I loved the fact that it was told from everyone’s POV
What can I say? I'm in LOVE with love triangles. I know everyone hates them, but tell me a book has a love triangle and it's an automatic read for me. And when the guys are FRIENDS? Yes. Please.
The angst, the drama is what I live for and this book didn't disappoint. It's a first read from this author from me and I can definitely say I'll be coming back for more.
Okay, first, let's talk about our heroine, because in a love triangle it's all about the woman. Wren is the best part of this book. She's strong and determined. She knows exactly what she wants and what is that? Both guys. She doesn't want to choose, so she doesn't. At least, not at first. It takes some serious ovaries to tell two best friends you want to date them both.
And next, our sweet and sexy men. I love both Jax and Zane in different ways, though I did have a preference I won't tell you. It would spoil the book because my man won! Ha!
In the end, this is a sweet book full of fun angst and a little bit of heat to top it off.
It’s an captivating and engaging love triangle between two best friends and their new room mate . What I really enjoyed about the story was it was written very beautifully and all three characters Zane , Jax and Wren were sketched beautifully. Both Zane and Jax were clear about their feelings and knew their mind but Wren was so unsure about her feelings that I really wanted to someone to make her see sense.
Once I started the story it was a total page turner and I literally binge read it , I wanted to know who would Wren end up with. I liked all the other supporting characters like Zane’s sister and Wren sisters and am looking forward to reading more stories in this series.
Teralyn is a new author for me , I really enjoyed her writing style and it was captivating and engaging and I would be reading more books by her.
I really enjoyed this book. This is my second time reading it. The first time was over the summer as a beta reader. So it was fun reading it with other changes. I could relate with Wren and her interactions with the guys.... and lets just say I wouldn't mind rooming with both Zane and Jax. I also am eager to read the next book again because I remember loving it Even more!! I adore this author and she is now an Autobuy for me.
Teralyn Mitchell is a new to me author and I really enjoyed this story and I will definately be reading this author again. Unusually for me I liked all the characters and felt like I got to know them equally. Will and Zane need a flatmate and when Wren moves in their are sparks between all of them. This is not a menage book or a typical love triangle book. I say typical because usually similar books involve the characters all having sex but with one of the men who I won't name I didn't feel that type of connection. What we have for me was three people forming a deep friendship and it was really well written. A large portion of the book is the build up to Wren making her decision even though I felt it was obvious who she would pick. The resoluton of the triangle felt rushed to me I would have liked to have had more of this part of the story but it didn't detract from my enjoyment.
Romance just got complicated. Three hearts, one love equals a heartbreaking choice. Between Two Moons puts friendship to the test. Mitchell finds sweetness in the most heartaching of moments. Zane, Jax and Wren are at their best when they are fighting their way through emotions at their worst. Young hearts are working their way through adult feelings in the best way they know how.
Wren ends up moving into an apartment with Jax and Zane. Jax and Zane are best friends and have never let a woman come between them but that changes once Wren enters the picture. I enjoyed reading about the three of them and how they managed to make things work out. Wren had dates with the two guys so she could decide who would win her heart. A good read.
I’m leaning more towards a 3.5 stars. I enjoyed this story but it wasn’t my favorite. I read this as an ARC but it definitely had more grammatical errors and words missing than I was expecting. I liked the characters and thought the guys sounded great. The names in this story were a bit weird though; I felt like Sophia and Courtney were the most normal names throughout the whole book. Wren also had six sisters and an aunt that was the same age as one of her other sisters. Honestly this was a lot of characters to keep track of for a love triangle story. I wasn’t sure how I felt about this plot or where this story was going to go; it was a little predictable towards the end in how certain characters were acting about this situation. I figured she would end up with the one she chose and her friend was acting a little weird for the exact reason I thought. Also nothing was happening romantically throughout this whole story until she finally tells the guys how she feels. Then all of a sudden they can’t keep their hands off of each other; it went from a slow burn romance to moving much faster in the bedroom department. I don’t know if I would be able to handle this situation like these three did considering they are roommates so I would say the characters are well written at least.
I truly enjoyed the characters & relationship with Wren and Zane. I did dislike the love triangle at first but I understood the modern take on love and how to approach it. The drama was intense at certain points but it made it all the better. I am looking forward to seeing Jax find happiness in his book with Soph but I just wish Soph would have told Wren her feelings and avoided all the drama to begin with bc of girl code. Nevertheless, it was a great read and I like that the characters were of different cultures and races.

i can totally sympathize with Teralyn ... i mean my grandparents to pieces ... man they get into that heart and just leave a hole .. i hope friends, family and every one out there ... grab a loved one and hold on. fit what bugs ya and move on .. love our peeps. hold them close. you never know when u might lose them. tissues. i am new to Teralyn Mitchell ... i have now read this read "Between Two Moons" and "Love & Other Complications". if i am honest here ... i did enjoy "Love & Other Complications" a bit more. fun characters. i enjoy the way TM does write. i wanna read more soon.
I was kindly gifted this book in exchange for an honest review. The synopsis had me all intrigued, I am definitely in the minority but I do love a good love triangle novel. I loved all the characters, I feel like we were given quite a good insight into their personalities and who they were. Both Zane and Jax I found myself liking, but the connection between the man who she chose was undeniable, you could definitely sense their chemistry. I did initially find the story a bit slow to start, took a while to really get going. Occasionally this can lose my interest if a story doesn’t grab me so it did take me a little while to finish. Also a very mild heat level I would say, as not a lot really happens until towards the end of the story. Between Two Moons was a nice easy read, I will be sure to look out for the next book in the series.
I really struggled to get into this. Where's the action?? Where's the plot twist? You give away the entire book in 3 sentences. 1 girl, 2 roommates, what could go wrong? Everything. The 3rd oldest sister of 6 girls has to video conference all of her sisters to make sure they are ok with her dating 2 guys? Or the demure no sex, no kissing attitude...Im baffled by this one and frankly bored as hell.

Loved this. I don't usually read love triangle, but this one won me over. The characters were funny and 3 dimensional. They were just walking off the page. They had goals and full lives that you were invested in as much as their romance. This book has real life struggles without over dramatizing. The balance of love and friendship is perfected in this fun book.
I liked the overall premise of this book, but I must admit I was hoping it would have a different outcome. I liked all of the characters, but I was really rooting for one of the guys in particular. I love the uniqueness of each of the characters names- Wren, Zane, and Jax. Wren was super easy to relate to and both of the guys were swoon worthy, but I was hoping for a lot more chemistry and action amongst them. I understand why there wasn’t, but I still wanted it. Overall it was a nice, quick read-I finished in about two days, if that. I enjoyed the banter among the characters and I liked that the drama was plausible-not the angsty, thrown-in-there-for-word-count kind. All of the characters were relatable, which makes or breaks a book for me. I’m not so sure I’d want to date the same guy as my best friend, but hey to each their own. Wren had her own hang-ups, as well as did Jax and Zane, which makes them more human than character in my eyes. I’m curious to see how the rest of the series will play out, especially the second book which focuses on the guy I was rooting for (hopefully he gets his HEA, too!) I’m giving this book three stars just for the fact that it was missing heat, which I expected it to have, but besides that it was a good book and part of a series that I will most likely read further in to.
I’m an on again off again romance reader, but this book really seemed like I could enjoy it and, boy, did I!
A good old fashioned love triangle, but everyone involved knows it’s happening. I can’t say I’ve ever read a book with such a setup. It’s the kind of thing you just have to find out how it ends. Any book that has me asking questions like this just from the synopsis is usually a winner for me.
I love that the story is told from all three sides of the triangle (multiple POVs) so you really get inside everyone’s head. The late twenties characters were refreshing and I could easily relate to them since that’s where I am in life. The romance was a slow burn and there were so many times I just wanted to yell at these people to kiss already! I felt like Wren, Jax, Zane, and Sophia could be my friends in real life they are so well written and relatable. A lot of romance books seem cheesy and over written, in my opinion, but Teralyn Mitchell really nailed it with the real ness of her characters emotions and lives.
I will be back for the rest of this series as soon as it is published. I loved this book and I will be reading every book I can find by the author.
Wren moves in with Zane and Jax. Zane and Jax are best friends, with Wren moving in, things can get complicated. Wren is attracted to Jax and Zane and decide that she'll date both of them and find out who is the one for her. I like the story and all characters. Teralyn Mitchell is a new author for me.
3 stars. let me start by saying i was so excited to read this story.
a love triangle between two best friends and their new roommate. i am happy with who ended up together. i was hoping for a little more in terms of how the characters felt.
all in all, this was a good story and i enjoyed it.
This was a very slow paced book and not a pace I typically read. This made it a bit boring for me. Another reason is there really did seem to have any chemistry going on between Wren, Zane, and Jax. The book had potential but it got lost along the way and among the everyday descriptions of their lives.
There is nothing I love more than a love triangle. I love the angst and drama that comes from these kinds of books so when I saw the blurb for Between Two Moons I couldn’t wait to read it.
I loved the idea of this book. Two hot roommates, one girl, it had angst written all over it. Unfortunately for me it just wasn’t angsty enough. It didn’t make me want to throw my kindle because my emotions were running way too high. I am also aware I’m in the minority because most people don’t want that amount of angst and emotional turmoil in their books. I like to be fully emotional invested in all the characters and I just wasn’t feeling it with this book. I did pick my man really early in this book, I wasn’t feeling the other guy at all even though I wanted to. This is a slightly different take on the usual love triangle books I read. The relationships stay fairly innocent, there’s no jumping from bed to bed and I quite liked that and found it more realistic than her swapping partners every two minutes.
This is the first book I’ve read by Teralyn Mitchell and I will definitely be reading her books in the future.
*****I was given the chance to read an ARC for my complete and honest review of this book*****
Between two moons in the first book in the Falling for the Unexpected series by Teralyn Mitchell. This is the first book I have read from this author, and I did in fact enjoy it. I went back and forth between giving it 4 or 5 stars, but ultimately I left it at 4. The reasons for this is because the book was a bit back and forth with the pacing. Some parts went quicker than others and it just threw me off.
I do like that we get to see chapters from all three of the main characters so we get a chance to understand how each of them is feeling about things as the progress. Jax is such a sweet, caring, bookish guy and I absolutely loved him! Wren and him get along great and it’s amazing seeing the relationship form. It’s vastly different from the electricity between Wren and Zane but it’s still good. Zane is also a sweetheart, and so lovable and caring. Not to mention they’re both hot as sin! I love how much thought they each put into their dates with Wren and how much they do care about her. At first I wasn’t sure who she would choose, if either of them. But I honestly am glad it ended the way it did.
Wren’s relationship with her sisters is amazing and I can relate since I have 4 sisters myself. I love it! Overall, I loved the book I just wish the pacing was a bit more uniform. It’s definitely still a great read though and I still 100% recommend it! Definitely will keep my eye out for the second book that follows two characters we meet in this one!
The story its about a LOVE TRIANGLE between two men( Jax and Zane)and a woman(Wren). To make things more complicated they all lived under the same roof. To be honest the beginning of the story didn't attracted me too much but little by little I got pull into the story. The interactions between the characters made this changed for me because they were great, the attraction and chemistry was there but in the end Wren needed to decide which of the guys she was going to choose. I loved the dates Wren had with each of the guys, I also love all the interaction Wren had with her sisters. There was lots of tension between Jax and Zane (best friends fighting for the same woman), they both try their best to win Wren's heart but in the end Wren needed to decide who makes her feel those sparks and desire. Yes, there is a HEA ending and what really intrigued me in the end was what is going to be the story for the guy that didn't win Wren's heart, honestly i can't wait to read his story.
I really enjoyed this entertaining story. This book has wonderful characters and a great story line that was easy to read that pulled me in immediately. I couldn’t put it down.
Wren finds herself attracted to both of her new roommates and decides to date both of them before she chooses who she’d rather be with, if they both agree. So the roommates love triangle begins. Her crazy idea leads her on a journey to finding true love with one and a new best friend in the other.
This was my first book I got the privilege of reading by Teralyn Mitchell and was not disappointed. I enjoyed it and loved the love triangle between friends. It was fresh & enjoyable. I can’t see what other books Teralyn Mitchell has out to read next.
I received this book in exchange for a honest review.
I am a sucker for a good love triangle. This one was ok. I liked that it worked out in the end for the right couple. I felt I knew who was going to get picked. This book had a lot of fun parts and a lot of laughs. It was a great read. Wren, Jax, and Zane were fun to read and i enjoyed their story. I am excited for the next one.

This is a first read for me by this author and I most definitely enjoyed it. The pace was great. The story was interesting and definitely had my attention the entire time. Between Two Moons was good. I loved all the characters. Their chemistry was on point. Overall it was a good read. I felt like everything was resolved and the ending had me thinking uh ohhhhh. I just wanted more. So much of the book was the build up and the ending just felt a little quick for me. I liked how things were going and was sad when it ended. Will definitely read more from this author for sure!
Lovely story about how we can love two people in different ways, but there will be on that stands out. I had mix feelings regarding this one. But it is a nice story that you can read in one day, you just need to give it a chance. 🙃
I enjoyed this world and the characters were well done! I struggled a bit with the triangle here, but was satisfied with the resolution. I'm excited to see where things go for Sophie as well - that situation is sure to stir up lots of feelings and drama with this crowd!
