Two hundred years after the Siren Virus killed off what was thought to be the last of the female population, Leah Valley is raised by her father and hidden from the male world under the alias "Lee". She and her father seek to find Eden, a safe haven for the surviving women, where her sister and mother live under the unjust rule of the corrupt dictator, Velma. While trying to locate them, Leah and her father are threatened by the CDC who plot to destroy all evidence of the existence of women. When the most dire of circumstances fall upon her, Leah is forced to bring Rider, her lifelong best friend, into her world of secrecy and danger. They both soon learn that the world is not a safe place for a lady.
A must read! Couldn’t break away from it! Even if you are not a believer of God, it’s an excellent read and a powerful story. Hope there is more to come soon!
For me, The Era of Eve was too long. Despite being just under 700 pages on my kindle, there were only 28 chapters, with lots of descriptions overdone. I wanted to finish the book in order to give a complete overview of my thoughts but, as it has taken me far longer to read than a book usually would, I've found it difficult to make a complete review. Whilst it had lots of potential, I didn't necessarily enjoy every moment. Aspects of the book were certainly engaging, including the plot twists that were thought through and the slow burn friends to lovers - some parts i read over to fully take it in! But other parts I skipped over as it was SO long - I simply can’t forget the overwhelming length of the book, which meant I couldn’t enjoy it as much.
I think that, with shorter chapters and more succinct writing, her books will be well loved in future :)
I really enjoyed reading this book, you would see me walk around with my nose in it for multiple days. It may be a bit expensive but it’s worth it in my opinion, I love the writing style and also the story is very well written and thought of!
Christian or not, it's a great book quite long and there are some grammar and spelling mistakes. But other than that it's a wonderful, fun, exciting read.
