Grieve, Create, Believe is the debut title by blogger and author, Rachel George. Rachel wrote this book after the loss of her two precious babies, Clive and Winnie. Grieve, Create, Believe was created to help parents process through the loss of their children too, although it can be helpful for processing grief in general. I've never experienced child loss but I was still grateful to read Rachel's story and learn from her example of pursuing Christ even in the midst of tragedy. She writes in a way that is wise, honest, and hope filled. Grieve, Create, Believe is unique when it comes to books on processing loss because it provides readers with a way to tangibly express their grief. The chapters conclude with a Creative Response section with project prompts that are cathartic and point to God's character. I like that many of the Creative Response projects will allow readers to create a meaningful memento of their loved one(s). I'm not usually a huge fan of self published books because they seem to lack the quality of books produced by traditional publishers. However, Rachel's book is the exception. One of my favorite aspects of Grieve, Create, Believe, is the Scripture artwork featured on some of the pages. I really wanted to tear out some of the pages and use them as artwork around my home but the book lover in me simply couldn't do it. The hymn pages were beautifully done and I was very tempted to use those as artwork as well. It is clear that Rachel put forth a tremendous amount of time and effort into the content of her book as well as the design, and she did an excellent job. I love how through her story she comforts others with the comfort she's received in Christ. Her story takes brokenness and turns it into something beautiful and I know many have already been encouraged by it. I really enjoyed Grieve, Create, Believe and am pleased to give it my highest recommendation.

I’m so thankful for this book. Losing someone you love is such a difficult place to walk forward from and feeling alone in the darkness only intensifies it and gives the enemy of your soul more room to be destructive with his lies. I have never lost someone close to me before their natural time, but I have known sorrow and the hold that isolation can have in a journey of loss. My heart aches for those that find themselves in that place but are unable to join a grief group, receive counseling or attend a seminar; now I have something to give them so they don’t feel alone. My friend has courageously journeyed the trenches of grief and put in the hard work to find the truth that heals, and she has written the most heartfelt book so that those that walk a similar journey don’t have to feel alone. She shares from her personal journey of carrying, birthing, losing and continuing to love her two infant babies. This book has Scripture and quotes to encourage & redirect one’s heart to the truth and offers practical ideas & advice, as well as creative prompts, to help process the loss and remember loved ones well. I believe firmly if you read this or share it with someone suffering loss you/they will not only experience hope & healing but you will feel you have found a new friend who empathizes with you. Rachel was my friend during some of my loneliest days, so I have experienced first hand her kindness in desiring to come alongside others in their journey of loss and loving them through it. In her book, she brings that same kindness and empathy to her readers. There will always be an extra one on my bookshelf so I can have it ready to pass along to someone I love that is grieving.

Grief is a process, but also immobilizing. Rachel walks through its trenches with you to help you keep moving forward, if that is what you are ready to do. By happenstance I got to start this book in the same hospital where I lost my son, I was so captivated by the openness I didn’t notice the time passing as I waited in the ER. The layout really facilities allowing the reader to hold space for grief which I feel goes deeper than some other grief books I have read. This is definitely a book I will keep on my reference shelf for when I fall into the grief hole of child loss.

Such a helpful guide book for anyone who has encountered pregnancy or baby loss and wants some help to process their grief. Practical, creatively presented, whilst also sharing learning & encouragement from the author’s own experiences of walking through this season. This book would make a good personal investment or a great gift for a friend
