Dogs. Shoes. Rhyming. SHOES. Kids (2 & 3) like the dogs, but don't understand shoe types. Grown-up (37) also likes the dogs and illustrations, but gets sick of explaining what different types of shoes are to Australian kids who have zero interest in footwear. Maybe suited for mini-fashionistas and American kids. Also unsure about title - "beasties" feels like it was only used for alliteration purposes and needs a bit more brainstorming.
Each page contains a short, snappy rhyme with alliteration between the type of dog and their footwear. It's a simple but super cute and creative idea realized through hilarious and heartwarming illustrations of dogs romping around in shoes!
Most dogs prefer to chew on shoes, but the ones in this book wear them! This is a silly rhyming story with delightful illustrations of many different types of dogs sporting many different types of footwear.
All these dogs love their footwear. In this adorable rhyming book, we pair dog breeds with shoe styles, exploring dozens of places where shoes are appropriate. The artwork is magnificent and the story silly and fun. I'll definitely be reading this one to my kiddos.
cute illustrations of dogs wearing a variety of shoes. any substance? not really. but everyone likes a dog in shoes. each breed represented has a different pair using alliteration
This book would be a big hit with the right child. Must love dogs. Must love rhyming text. Must love fashion. Must get a kick out of books set in Chicago. Fun!
