Bestselling author Jordan Rubin, with David Remedios, M.D., shows how to adopt the 7 Keys in The Great Physician's Rx for Health and Wellness to focus aggressively on diabetes and develop a game plan against it.
I picked up this slim little book at the library today and thought it looked promising based on the title and some of chapter names: "Eat to Live," "Practice Advanced Hygiene." I love eating to live and practicing advanced hygiene! But once I got it home I soon realized that by "Great Physician" the authors meant God, and by "Diabetes" the authors meant "Type 2 diabetes." None of this applies to me. I still read it, though, out of curiosity regarding these so-called advanced hygiene techniques. Great advice on washing your hands, face, nose, ears, and teeth - aside from that, it wasn't very useful. For type 2 diabetics just learning to care for themselves (type 2 diabetes is often reversible) or pre-diabetics (type 2 diabetes is usually preventible), who are also God-fearing Christians, this is probably a fantastic book. But I can't treat juvenile diabetes with prayer or with exercise, so two stars it is.
