This two-volume report presents the results of extensive excavations in the mid-1980's of a Roman villa and temple-mausoleum site at Bancroft in the parish of Wolverton, Buckinghamshire. The first volume, Excavations and Building Materials, gives a full record of the excavations, including roundhouses, villa, temple, and cemeteries, and analysis of tile, roofing materials, architectural stonework, wall plaster, and mosaics and tesserae. The second volume, Finds and Environmental Evidence, reports on the coins, artefacts, and pottery, and on animal, human, and plant remains, mollusca, wood, charcoal, and C14 determinations.
