Find out about this photographers role in the Civil War. How did he go from Brady of Broadway to being the first photojournalist? Why was it hard to take pictures on the battlefield with early cameras? Through the photos and drawings of Brady and other photographers and illustrators, readers will learn about the Civil War and some of the bloodiest battles that took place.
This book was a biography of Mathew Brady, therefore he was the main character. The point of view of this book was third person, and it had a lexile of 500. The setting took place during the Civil War because that is when Brady took the majority of his photographs and the ones that he was most famous for. The plot of this book was to tell the reader about the life of Mathew Brady. This included, where he grew up, why he got into photography, some of his most famous pictures what happened to his pictures after he died. The main ideas of this book were photography and the civil war. I would recommend this book because it is good to have yet another view point from the Civil War. My personal reaction was that I would have been creeped out if I have to take pictures of dead people.
Concluding Statement: Photographs are important to remember our history
