This book took me down memory lane for a bit. I felt like I was back in high school and college again. The way the young ones talked, it made me laugh. It's a fun book to read.

I loved it when David Fuentes put himself in the book for just a few lines. It made it a more personal feel meaning, it's his book and it will always be his book. I just wish more authors would do that.

Like I had said at the begging, it was a fast, fun read. I absolutely loved it. I cannot wait for the next book of there is one. I do highly recommend this book!!

I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review

If you like reading text messages this is the book for you, the characters chatter so much the story gets lost and slowly moves along. An interesting tale of friends and under sexed guys :)I'm battling between if this was written for or by a middle school guy then the excessive masochistic pig banter runs out like something after you use the product named Fleet (at least in the USA), so it still to be determined.

This is a story about a few friends who are on vacation. It reminds me of a cosplay/final destination/forune teller/dystopian novel. The story is fast paced and moves right along and is full of action, adventure, good world building, and strong characters. There was a lot of wtf moments. This book is well written. I will be picking up book 2 in the future when it comes out.

The writing is good and the story moves right along. To strange for my taste.

Reverb is meant to be a cross between the ‘Inbetweeners’ and ‘Groundhog’ day, according to the back cover.
It follows six students who have come for a trip to blow off steam before heading off to Uni.
The book is kind of broken into two parts, with the first part of the book being their first ‘trip’ and then the rest of the book covering what happens when the ‘Groundhog Day’ bit settles in.
This is not a book for anyone under the age of 18, as it has explicit sex scenes, and content, language and drug use.
The first part of the book is more like a pathetic fantasy of a 14yr old boy for the most part, even so cliché as two of the girls having to save water, so having a shower together, and it turning into a graphic girl on girl sex scene.
The characters are very weak, and totally lacking in any originality, and the depth of a shallow puddle in summer, with a weak minded girl, the slutty princess who takes charge but has to run around jumping everything that moves, her friend, who also jumps everything, and just to be equitable, the quite Asian girl, who is smart, but naïve…stereotype anyone??
The boys, are just testosterone filled idiots, who drink, fight and fornicate, and not necessarily in that order. That is except for the shy timid and weak one, who is utterly useless of course, again – stereotype anyone??
There is really no storyline either, the whole book is the six of them walking around drinking and having graphic sexual encounters, it reads like something you would expect to find in a playboy magazine from 1980.
When it does actually get to some form of a storyline towards the end of the book (it takes nearly three quarters of the book to even get to the concept of the ‘Groundhog Day’ bit), this is just so badly done it is laughable.
And then just to make it just a total spectacular failure, just as something serious happens in the book, it ends, leaving you on this huge cliffhanger. Imagine if in Groundhog Day, Bill Murray had stolen the Ground Hog, AND Andie McDowell and driven off the cliff with them, and the film stopped as the truck exploded with ‘To Be Continued’ – you would be hurling things at the screen. That’s what this book does to you.
Not only was it just painful to get to the point where it was actually MEANT to be interesting, the Author (allegedly), cuts it short.
The only thing of any interest is that there are some funny comments included by the Author as if he is talking to you the reader, which on occasion are actually amusing, there are some good cultural references (but also some pretty sad, and just some downright poor ones to), and some of the comments are actually very clever, and quite funny.
It is incredibly disappointing that the Author has this level of a sense of humour (for the most part), and yet did not use any of it with his Characters or the story, instead, writing a B Grade Porn story, and pretending to wrap it up in someone else’s idea (Groundhog Day), which he couldn’t even get that right.
One other thing that is just really annoying, and totally drives you crazy, especially if you are Australian (seriously if you are an Australian, don’t get this, you will scream), is the really bad dialogue.
Supposedly, the Author is from England, where they speak English. I know a fair few English people, being related to several on both Parents side, and my ex-wife’s side, plus a bunch where I work to (we get to speak to the English all the time). My point is, I hear a lot of English speaking people, and they don’t say ‘Mate’ every second word, that is an Aussie thing. I’m also pretty sure that Mate isn’t a word used in the Spanish vernacular either.
And yet, here we have 6 British Youths, 3 Male, 3 Female, that can’t stop saying Mate. It’s like they are being paid to say it. It would make a horrible drinking game – drink every time one of them says Mate – you would be shattered by the end of the first paragraph. It was bad enough have the Poms saying it, but when the Spanish started saying it as well?? The dialogue in this was just terrible, painful to listen to.
Overall, this was just a dreadful book. I got a copy to give an honest review, and I am sorry to be so harsh. I don’t know what it is doing in the Sci-Fi category, it should be in Adult Literature. The poor writing, appalling characters and dreadful storyline were bad enough, but to just cut it off like that and expect people to buy part two to find out what happens is just wrong.
If you want some porn to read, sure, if your looking for a Sci-Fi book though, BRRR Wrong Book…

I was given a copy of this book for free in exchange for a review. Sigh.

I love the Groundhog-day sub-genre of reliving part or all of a person's life. I've read every book, seen every movie, climbed every mountain... well you get the drift. It's the idea of redemption that hooks my imagination. The chance to correct a poor choice, salvage a lost opportunity, save a loved one... The bigger the change, the better I like it.

I didn't like this book. Sure there were plenty of proofreading errors, but not enough to really annoy me. No, there were deeper problems. Do you remember the scene in Hitch-hiker's Guide where Zaphod is trying to convince Arthur to allow his brain to be removed since it could easily be replaced with a simple computer... “you’d just have to program it to say What? and I don’t understand and Where’s the tea? Who’d know the difference?” Well, all of the characters in "Reverb" felt like that. For the most part, their dialogue boiled down to "I'm horny. Let's F*ck."

And the dialogue... it was a caricature. The six friends constantly prattled in an over-the-top way. Various extreme examples of British dialects were used but with an overabundance of slang. The reader is hit over the head with their ethnicity. It's about as subtle as Crocodile Dundee being held up as a typical Australian. We are not granted any insight into their thoughts; no inner dialogue to enrich these two-dimensional placeholders.

If the friends were more likable I might have been more invested, but they were vapid. I held on, trying to reach the turning point. I wanted to see what would happen when they started to relive a slice of their past. At about the 15% mark, we get a "DAY 1" marker, which gave me some encouragement. I read on, waiting for the jump. I read, I skimmed. More shitty dialogue but no sign of the twist. At some point, I gave up any pretense of reading and just skimmed. "DAY 2" started at the 48% mark for those that are curious.

This book rubbed me the wrong way. And it rubbed me HARD. I'm sorry David, but here are my recommendations:-
1. Tone down the dialogue and give the cast some depth of personality and motivation.
2. Let's have a clear POV character and thus a chance to explore their inner thoughts and reactions.
3. The intro and DAY 1 should be dramatically trimmed. You can flesh out what was going on retroactively, in later iterations, (but only if it drives the plot or illustrates a character arc)
4. Get a proofreader to revise your book.

Where to start.... this book was 100 times better then the last book I read by David Fuentes - but still not what I hoped it would be. The whole book was basically about 6 teens being horny and trying to F*ck the nearest thing with a beating heart, there was no real characters, just a bunch of flat characters yelling and screaming nonsense, and they NEVER stopped talking, it was basically just constant dialogue with a few random details about where they are in that point in time. the story took FOREVER to go anywhere because there was too much useless dialogue. it almost felt as if David put in a ton of dialogue so he could hit the 200 page mark instead of (barely) hitting the 100 page mark

in conclusion, I rated this 3 stars because it is SO MUCH better then the last books i read by him (The Myths Box Set) but it is still yet to be enjoyable. on a normal day I probably would have rated it 2 stars but I am feeling generous :)

In Reverb: Live, Die, Rave, Repeat, David Fuentes tells the tale of a group of six school chums who go on a booze-filled weekend at the Majorcan holiday resort Magaluf before heading off to university. Quite the motley crew, Paul, Megan, Andy, Aimi, Philip, and Prisha dive full-force into their trip for a weekend anyone would wish would never end . . . and it may not. Full of sex (oh, so much sex – giving old Seymore Butts a run for his money, aren’t you Dave?), booze, and sun, Fuentes’ tale is chock-full of pop culture references and amusing asides from (my favorite character) the cheeky narrator.

I’m usually a stickler for spelling and grammar, but Reverb is so fun and fast-paced that I had no trouble forgiving the mistakes I saw. As an added bonus for non-British readers who, like me, are die hard Anglophiles, there’s tons to keep you happy (doner kabobs, anyone?).

David Fuentes left me wanting more with Reverb: Live, Die, Rave, Repeat, and I have no doubt he’ll do the same for other readers.

I was given this audio book for free by the author, in return for a honest review and here it is! I really enjoyed listening to this story. It was unlike any audio book I had listened to before. It was set in the party resort of magaluf in Majorca and is about six friends who holiday there. Many years ago I partied there with my friends and it brought back many memories. The author describes the setting well and catches the vibe of the place perfectly. Beware, there are a lot of sexual references in this story so don’t go near it if you are a prude 😂🙈. I found this story funny and enjoyed the lots of references throughout to British comedy and culture. The only thing I found quite strange was that, although the characters were English, the narrator had an American accent. Though she did tell the story clearly I think it would have suited the story to have an English narrator. I would recommend this story and will look out for more from the author.

This isn't the typical type of book I read but the title drew me in after I kept seeing it appear on my books lists. It was an interesting concept and I didn't really like the characters straight out of the gate so I was hoping there would be more shenanigans with bad outcomes hence the live/death part, that they had to learn from each repeat. The grammer spelling issues were very distracting, too instead of to, corse instead of course or coarse. Some of the details like names and flight times appeared to be mixed up. But there was some fun and also explicit scenes to be expected from the name of the book. The ending was also so abrupt for me, even with a to be continued. I think I would have liked this book more with a good editor.

This review is LONG OVERDUE (Story Origin)! I don't know what to say about this book, I'm kind of torn. It took me down memory lane to my high school and college years... only the sex wasn't that great. Why does great sex (during high school and college) only happen in books? I didn't really form a connection with the characters, I thought they were somewhat juvenile and lacking any character development. It wasn't a horrible read, but yeah... that's about it.

REVERB: LIVE, DIE, RAVE, REPEAT by David Fuentes takes us to one night between friends like no other--a night of adventure, twists and turns, and surprises that will leave the reader definitely wanting more. I feel that if I were to say more about the plot, I would give away this great story of friendship, love, and more. A fun read and definitely worth the price of admission!

Brings back memories of clubbing days, well worth a read! Left me with a smile on my face & wanting the next in the series! Brilliant!

Teenagers take a trip to Spain to have fun and are catapulted into a world turned upside down. I found this book to be tedious and poorly edited. The misspellings were hard to overlook and the author's point of view was very distracting. I really wanted to love this book but honestly, I struggled to finish it. I received this book in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
