O corcubionés emprende a súa viaxe cun erudito do British Museum.

ENG: A Galician in Ireland is a compilation of chronicles published in El Pueblo Gallego that Plácido Castro wrote during a visit to the Blasket Islands, located in the west of Ireland, in 1928.

The native of Corcubión undertook the visit with a scholar from the British Museum. They left Dublin and crossed Ireland to the village of Dunquin. Little by little Castro introduced himself to the culture and people of the archipelago, a community that spoke essentially Gaelic, governed by a "king", who was locally held in authority, and in which there was also a "poet", the most important man on the island.

The chronicles are full of lyricism and anecdotes in which he tries to reflect the similarities and differences between Galicia and Ireland. Texts of great poetic, philosophical, anthropological, geographical and cultural transcendence, reported by a Plácido who showed great wisdom and a committed curiosity despite being only 26 years old.
