Goodreads has me mixed up with another Jason Wallace, the author of "Out of Shadows." I am the author of "Under the Cypress Moon," "The Blade of Anslor," "Shattered: On the Edge of Insanity," and many more. I have been working tirelessly on correcting this, but goodreads has not helped me to sort it all out or fix anything.

The quote at the bottom of my profile is not mine. It is from a book by the other Jason Wallace, and goodreads will not fix the error. Everything that has been fixed thus far, I've had to do on my own.

Performance by David Martin - 2 stars!

Mr. Martin's performance remained stilted for the entire narration. Although he had a clear voice, I found his style distracting which made it slightly harder to comprehend the information being presented.

Content - 3.5 stars!
Author Jason Wallace clearly defines terms, gives the history of different psychological treatments and conditions in addition to explaining how CBT can help anyone with a negative mindset retrain their brain. I had previous exposure to CBT in an abbreviated form courtesy of a work stress clinic I completed through Kaiser Permanente Mental Health services in the spring of 2019. For me, this book helped to reinforce some key concepts I'd already been exposed to in my work stress clinic. This material definitely serves as a good reminder and enhancement to the knowledge I'd already gained previously.

Editing - 3 stars!
There were some awkwardly worded sentences and a few positive statements that were then contradicted in the very next statement. The editor obviously missed these small but very obvious errors.

Overall - 3 stars!
The info is good but digesting it was hampered a bit by the narrator David Martin's very stilted delivery. For me, his narrating style was unfortunately eerily similar to a text-to-speech narration. If the narration had been better, I'd personally listen to the parts of this book that I found the most helpful again.

Final opinion
My recommendation to anyone listening to this material for the very first time is to bookmark sections you'd like to re-listen to and better digest to help remind you of actions you can take to rewire your brain.
