Early in my teaching career, I was a member of NCTM. They were pushing their national standards at the time. To ensure I was up on what was going on, I purchased this book. It was helpful in presenting example problems to this new teacher so I understood the scope of mathematics as I should be teaching it.
While the standards have changed over the years, the examples here still serve as a good foundation for a fourth grade classroom.
