Like her granmom, Sheema worries too much. It's the early 1980's and she gets anxious about the bomb every time she starts to think about her dad, who left her with her grandparents after her mother died. Sheema thinks she will feel better about everything in her life if she can reunite with her dad.

The plot is a young adult standard and doesn't get going until nearly three quarters of the way in. Getting immersed in the life Sheema leads with her grandparents and boyfriend is where the enjoyment in the read lies. By the time I finished, I thought the story had been a bit thin and the outcome predictable, but Sheema is adorable, worth getting to know.

A Little Love is the first book l am reading for 2017.
This book was almost going in the bin, but so glad l changed my mind and decided to read it.
A good read considering it is aimed for young adults.

A story of a young African American girl wanting to find her father that gave her away to her Grandparents. She wanted to know why her father gave her up, and if he still loved her.
A book worth reading especially when you are stuck indoors, because you are going through a heatwave.

A great light read, and great for all age groups.
Worth the read, recommend it highly !

A little love a little peep hole to the life of black people in America has taught me a lot about family love, young love and even accent. Shema baby is an interesting girl covered up in a typical looking life.
