Dr. Weiss truly understands the damage of partner betrayal. Being betrayed by your spouse or significant other impacts a person in such a tremendous way. Whether through affairs, pornography addiction, sex addiction, withholding intimacy, etc. partner betrayal trauma and a person's reaction to that betrayal is valid and intense. In this book he normalizes what partners go through when they become aware of their partners betrayal(s). He normalizes and explains how the trauma from betrayal impacts the partner, how to set limits, and how to begin picking up the pieces of your life. Excellent book for anyone who has suffered with being betrayed by their spouse or significant other.

Timely Read

As a Partners Recovery Therapist, this read brought added insight to the impact of trust/commitment violations. I have readily recommended it to clients in my practice.

I was really disappointed with this book. There are a lot of statistics and information and I felt like he was making a case for the trauma a partner receives. I already believed that this is true so I did not need the proof that is offered here. The other downfall is it felt like he often was referring me to another resource to buy from him. This one was already spendy and the others were similar or more. I did like two chapters out of the book. The one on PTSD was pretty good and the one on counselors was insightful. Although much of what is bad was my previous counselor. But it will be good to have the info and the list of questions for the future.
