Love, Catch a Wild Bird

Daredevil and dreamer, Bree Graeme returned to her family farm between exploits to heal a few bruises and build up steam for her next adventure. But there she collided with Cane Taylor -- and the instant intimacy between these two strangers was as powerful as a prairie storm sweeping across the fertile land. Bree's years of wild roving came to a sudden halt, for when she looked into Cane's eyes, she knew she'd found love at last. Her precious discovery had a price, though... and paying it meant living on new terms. But what price freedom to dare when the man she loved could rest only as she lay safe in his arms?

I usually like this author’s books despite her overly flowery prose. She generally writes heroines with backbones and Alpha heroes who start off as jerks but gradually become incredibly besotted and loyal. Very satisfying stories in general. This one bored me to tears. The heroine was insufferable. The hero was not a living, breathing person, just a mirror in which the heroine could admire her glowing reflection. And their conflict was stupid: She is a wild bird who likes to travel to exotic places and engage in extreme sports, but he would rather clip her wings so she stays with him rather than fly off to the next destination. I have never been this bored after reading an Anne Reisser book.
