I'd call this a good book if you want a quick read. The story was interesting, but the ending felt a bit rushed as none of it was hinted anywhere earlier in the story . Otherwise I enjoyed reading this book.

Something of Value
By
Jeannie Ruth

Something of Value by Jeannie Ruth is indeed something to treasure, the love, the adventure and the intrigue in this book makes it such a treasure and worth reading. When Lord Barrington dies, he leaves his estate under his wife and daughter Alicia who is just making her debut to the adult society at the time of her father’s death. All is well until Alicia’s mother falls in love with a mysterious man Reginald whose intentions are to take over the Barrington estate which is unknown to the ladies. Things turn around after her mother’s honey moon as Alicia is sent to her Uncle’s in the colonies far away from England on her mother’s orders. On her way there, the ship is attacked by pirates whose captain falls for Alicia bringing a turn in the already precarious situation. Not long after her arrival to her destination, she discovers that her step father Reginald is not ready to rest until his son Reginald Jr. is married to Alicia so that he takes over the Barrington Estate. I enjoyed every part of the book though it left me wanting more as every turn of the page left me wondering what would happen next and wanting more and in the end I was left puzzled as the story came to an end without my notice. Thank you Jeannie Ruth looking forward to reading more from you.
