The first chapter will hook and reel you in...this is the first time I've read this author and the writing is gripping from the get-go! The characters are believable, with complexities and flaws. Just when you think you've got it all figured out, something else shows up right around the corner. Quinn takes her role as a sister seriously and this sets in place a cascade of events as she seeks to understand just what has become of her missing brother (is he dead, alive, hiding, captive, or?). She is also seeking to understand herself with disjointed and elusive memories that she just knows are important, if only she can figure out how the puzzle pieces fit together without a map. This truly is a Pandora's Box. Highly recommend!

The first chapter was great! The rest of it was… good. I realize Shorts (short stories) don't leave a lot of room for the fleshing out of ideas but this one seemed to bounce around pretty rapidly. I feel like I watched the first 10 minutes of a film then skipped to the last 15minutes.

I'm left with so many questions but don't know enough to begin to what to ask.

The book kept switching between "Quinn was a super spy - Quinn was panting for either of the guys.". Also "Bryce was still deeply mourning his fiancee - Bryce was panting for Quinn."

Lucky it was a short story
