✏️
1 point only for the on-point elephant sketches, which really get the point of “elephant in the room” across.
My top 3 favorite elephant sketches:
🐘Tic-tac-toe of HR workers interspersed with elephants
🐘Paperwork flowcharts leading from one elephant to another
🐘A field of elephants with office chairs strewn amongst them

I couldn’t finish the book in one sitting – the idea isn’t novel (the elephant idiom has been around since 1950s’?), and the writing is not fluid. It was difficult to read through the simple narration, and I find myself rereading several sentences because the structure just felt ‘off’. The first thought that popped into my head was the institution where I worked – red tapes of bureaucracy everywhere, incurring ridiculous amounts of unnecessary costs: money and timewise. The elephant forms are everywhere! Filling in one form requesting for attention for Issue A, only to find yourself to filling in more forms and ended up being sent back to review totally irrelevant Issue Z. Oh well, those elephants are not my war to fight. I have my own herds of indiscipline mother elephant with her babies of overthinking, procrastination, short-temperedness to tame!
