There's a serial killer in the neighborhood, and Sam is being stalked. When she turns to her former boyfriend, Clint Chastain, an innocent encounter turns into a case of extortion.

Three months ago, sweet little Miley Harper was found suffocated by her own pillow. When reclusive neighbor Grace Hazelton turns up dead from carbon monoxide poisoning, Sam McNamee suspects a serial killer is at large in her neighborhood.

Then Sam starts getting fan mail that quickly turns threatening. Someone has figured out her secret identity. The only way to find out who is to infiltrate the ranks of the local book club.

When Sam gets the chance of a lifetime and needs a dog sitter for Bump, Clint volunteers. If things with him were complicated before they broke up, they're doubly so now--his ex-wife has baby plans, and he's the most likely baby daddy.

Then Bump disappears. And Sam is apparently next on the killer's list. This time, though, if she's going to survive, she'll have to save herself.

I enjoyed this series immensely! The author did a great job of building Sam as character. She has a lot going on in her family and then there is all the added drama of the mahem that finds her and Bump. I was surprised that Bump didn’t play a bigger role in the last scene in the book. It was odd to me. I love books where dogs play a main role. I would read more if you wrote more!

Sam and Bump are once again searching for answers as another mysterious death rocks their small neighborhood. This fast-paced drama will wrap up the mysteries in Sam's life and propel her into a better and hopefully a more tranquil future. Good Read!!!!

Wonderful work!

This was a great book. It was funny, mysterious, heartfelt laden with friendship and laughter and tears. It was everything I could want in a good read. I loved Sam and Bump. I couldn’t imagine all the things that happened to them. I can’t wait for the next book.

Excellent read

It kept me guessing until the end. Well rounded characters that are very likeable. It tied up all the questions for the series.

Bump is such a great character and poor Sam she needs Aflac 😂. I can’t wait for the next book and am glad to see all the characters are together

Fun and scary

There are a lot of wonderful people and some great dogs. The story is a mystery that's not easy to solve.

Lots of possibilities

Sorry. I expected better from the main character. Continually making bad decisions for whatever reason in three different books. Enjoyed the idea of the book and some interaction among the characters, but not the hopeful, fulfilling kind most of the time. Lots of unrealized opportunities, but then colossal, avoidable mistakes raised their ugly heads. Enjoyed the animals, but while there is a teaser of dog and human connections, they aren't realized. Sorry, but I had hoped for better.

Finally...Sam and Bump land on all 6 feet

This author's work has grown on me with each book. I suppose fiction is just that -- hard to believe, but fun anyway. These characters are outlandish.

I love this series; Bump is one of dogs that just loves everyone and cannot help himself. He makes me smile all of the time. Sam certainly has an interesting life. For someone who is an introvert and tries to stay out of other people’s business, she makes a lot of enemies. Loved the ending.

What was great about this book was its message. That message was that love is there for everyone and it is not just the outside package but the inner soul. It is love that keeps you with someone for a very long time and it is love that completes you. In these times, we need to be reminded about the power of love because the amount of hate in the world seems to be taking over.

If you read the other books in the series, you will not be disappointed with this one. If you have not any of Sam and Bump’s adventures, I strongly advise to you, they are a excellent read.
