How to Live with Less Chronic Pain --
On her personal journey to discover methods and foods to deal with chronic pain, author Shawna Coronado began with research and a visit to an integrative functional nutritionist specializing in inflammatory conditions, which changed her life to the positive forever. She stopped eating dairy, sugar, and grains and began researching smart ways to feel better. Scientific evidence points to how a lifestyle of eating anti-inflammatory foods can lessen and even eliminate inflammation in the body that is often blamed for diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, allergies, chronic pain, and a variety of diseases and disorders. To help her own health, she’s created an overall plan that includes growing and eating organic produce, exercising regularly, and therapeutic gardening. In Stacked with Flavor, she shares her powerful and personal story of what she has learned along the way: cooking methods to add over-the-top flavor to nutritious yet everyday foods; delicious recipes for imbuing your food with LOTS of flavor using mixtures of various herbs and spices and other techniques; and tips and meal plans to help you start your own journey to better health.
Applying the knowledge Shawna gained from her guiding health professionals to her daily life helped trigger a remarkable transformation; she went from taking medications as a solution to her health issues, to a life with more than 80 percent reduction in pain, reduced allergy reactions, improved moods, and increased energy, all without prescriptions.
Help your family stay healthy, feel better, and have more energy while reducing aches and pains and chronic inflammation. You may even lose a few pounds. Stacked with Flavor allows you to discover Shawna’s secret of “stacking” – placing foods on top of one another to enhance color, scent, and taste. Her herb and spice combinations will increase the flavor of your foods as well, making every meal delicious. Discover this and more in "Stacked With Flavor: An Anti-Inflammatory Cookbook With Dairy-free, Grain-free & Low-Sugar Recipes".

I have arthritis, an auto-immune illness and lymphedema. It would be beneficial to be on an anti-inflammatory diet for all of these illnesses. I have been overwhelmed with the idea of cutting out dairy, grains and sugar, but I believe Shawna Coronado has written a book that gives you the basics to get started. I know that it worked for her because I watched her journey to get healthy on social media. This book is beautifully photographed and the recipes look easy to make (and delicious!)
This would be perfect for someone starting an elimination diet. You've been given lists of what to eat and avoid, but you wonder: What will I actually eat? What recipes will I make? What will my meals be? There are good ideas here to help you out. But I wasn't inspired by the recipes for my daily life.
Lots of recipes for spice blends; for meals it's more "formulas" than recipes.
I love this book! As a person with an auto-inflammatory disease, it's important for me to eat foods that will help me stay as healthy as possible. Stacked with Flavor has real recipes that are easy, healthy and delicious. Just the right book to inspire a great meal.
This is a beautiful book with lovely pictures. I thought it would have more recipes, not just spice blends. I was somewhat disappointed after buying it.
Why is it that eating healthy consists of vegetables and proteins which I wouldn't touch with a 10' pole? Hence, foodies ought to like it. I'm rather disappointed that it didn't have more food in it that I like.
Stacked with Flavor is chockfull with a wealth of helpful information to help a person navigate to a healthier eating lifestyle. Shawna has in her book, many meal planning menus, recipes, nutritional tools, conversion charts & especially useful is the Wellness Garden Nutrition Chart for Fruits & Vegetables. This book can be very useful for so many people who are dealing with a variety of health issues. The sections: A Flavor Explosion explores the many uses that herbs & spices can add delicious tastes to foods. The Breakfast Menu, The Lunch Menu, & The Dinner Menu chapters have many recipes that are easy to make. I’ve tried several since receiving my book & have found them all scrumptious and healthy! Kudos to Shawna for writing such a helpful book! I highly recommend this book!
I usually read from cover to cover, but I bounced around on this one. The photography was great. Everything looks delicious. Always looking for easy healthy options that taste good.
It is real interesting. It tells you how to make your own spices and flavored oils. That is a nice thing for me because then I can make them without salt. I really like the book.
