As a collector of Toby Jugs (NOT Character Jugs - Heads only!!) Vic's book, and other versions/editions of this book, are essential reading and an excellent reference book to aid identification of Jugs.
I had the pleasure of meeting and corresponding with Vic on a few occasions, his stall on the Portobello Road was an absolute joy, Vic always dressed as the archetypal toby jug character with his trichorn hat. I have all versions of his book and even attempted (unsuccessfully) to contribute to the latest. Vic is sorely missed in the World of Toby Jug Collecting, his knowledge of Jugs and their history will probably never be surpassed.
On another note we also shared a passion for jazz, maybe all toby jug collectors have this attribute ???

Vic was so well known in the Toby Jug world that he had Toby Jugs modelled on him, one in particular is in his favourite type - The Yorkshire Toby - he is depicted holding a toby jug and a copy of the first version of this book. Needless to say I have one of each of these Toby jugs.
