It Is Important To Try New Foods

We read Sushi 🍣 in our kindergarten classroom and invited a sushi 🍣 chef to teach our class how to roll sushi. For almost all of our students, it was their first time eating it.

What new foods are you willing to try sfter you read the book?

This is a children’s book that makes an introduction to what sushi is. A little boy makes the introduction and shows us his love and excitement for sushi.
The idea for this book is nice and well done. The style of the illustrations fits quite well the theme. The illustrations are very colorful, clean and well-composed. Just like sushi 🙂
I thought the illustrator did a better job drawing the food than the characters. But still, overall I quite liked the artwork.
This is a fun and beautiful book, great to help introduce sushi to any child.

Gosh this is a super cute book.

Here in Australia Sushi is a popular food choice for most kids. There are few that have not tried it. You can find a sushi shop nearly on every corner.

So my kids did not need it as an introduction, but they still liked to see all the different types of sushi and learn some new words.

The bright colours and easy to read rhymes make it a really smooth read too.

Well done to Mary and Kang - a lovely way to explain this delicious (and so handy) food to your kids.

Sushi: A Children's Book by Mary Nhin
I know nothing about this food so thought id' be fun to learn about it.
This is a rhyming book and has many colorful illustrations about what's going on in the pictures.
Sometimes it's hard to find the words to read because the page is just SO busy with graphics.
Never knew there were so many different kinds of sushi.
Like pages that show you how they are made for a meal.

Great introduction to new experience!

Kids might be curious about sushi but be turned away by it being so different. That’s why this book is an excellent read, with its slick descriptive rhymes and eye-popping illustrations, to make the food more inviting.

"Sushi" introduces sushi to kids and describes the different ways that the Japanese food is made and how it's eaten. The colorful illustrations are a perfect match for the story, which is in rhyme. A great cultural learning tool!

Now I’m Hungry

Warning! Do not read this book on an empty stomach! Everything in it looks and sounds so good, you’ll go crazy. The illustrations are fun, and the message of learning about and loving new foods is very refreshing. Sure to be a hit with even the fussiest eaters.
