My novel, 'How Bad Does It Get?', starts off in a light hearted way and develops as the characters establish themselves in a deeper way. It is set in and around the Greater Manchester area but moves across the world to Brisbane and follows Stacey Romas’ life as a Personal Assistant working for Darren Brocklehurst, Manager of Stockport’s Big Issue in the North West .The true drama does not begin in the first 10,000 words that comes later as Darren struggles with his personal demons, mainly problem gambling which spirals out of control leaving his long-suffering wife Wendy and said P.A., Stacey, and Marj, the cleaner, who chats more than she cleans, to pick up the pieces, so to speak.
