The first thing she said was, “I’m divorced.” The woman sat down near me there on the veranda overlooking the pool of the resort. She might have been in her fifties. Attractive. And apparently she was divorced. That was the thing that was most important to her at that moment. She had a story and I wanted to hear it. I was intrigued. I was a writer. She was a character in a new adventure if I accepted her. I could have ignored her. I could have left. I could have discouraged her from telling me more. But I didn’t. I told her to tell me her story. Then I bought her a simple snack for breakfast. Then I invited her to take a shower in my room if she wanted to. She was at the resort but not registered and didn’t have a room, though she had been there for several days, sleeping on the beach. I was attracted to her. And by that I meant that there was a magnetic pull toward her. That’s why she had come to me. She felt drawn to me. I very much wanted to find out what this adventure was leading to. But we’d have to be honest. I wasn’t going to play games. And she could sense it.
I liked this story. For some reason this author's books always seem to be comforting. Whenever I am feeling stressed or anxious reading one of Marilyn's books helps calm me and allows me to feel at peace. Her books are erotic yes, but not pornographic in any sense of the word. They are thought provoking but not in a stressful manner. Every time a new book of hers is released I can't wait to dive into the story and see what brand new adventure awaits. My favorite author.
This was a lot of fun to read. Interesting characters and a fun story line. I love reading stories where the characters carry the story onward. It even better when there is an emotional reaction that causes laughter or tears. This had both.
Could have been a five star book but brought down by some rather strange choices. Let's start with the first one: don't let the fact that this is "Honest Attractions: Book 2" fool you, this is NOT about Dave, Courtney, Jet and their extended family who you got to know and came to love in the first book. The protagonist of this book is a man named Roland, who is a friend of Dave's through The Afra. Now Roland is a good man and a likeable protagonist, but it was a bit jarring to have a different main character in the second book of a series. The second thing that brings this books grade down for me is the reason why I marked that this review has spoilers: this book takes place well after the events of the first book, and it spoils things that haven't happened yet. Not only does it spoil things for Dave and his family that we haven't had a chance to read yet, it also spoils things in Tom Jensen's story that we haven't read yet too. That's right, remember Tom and how his last book ended in a cliffhanger? Well, he shows up in this book just fine, and Robby Jensen of all people informs us that what happened to Tom really wasn't that big of a deal. I cannot convey just how much this infuriated me. The final issue that brings down this books overall grade is tied to the second issue: because this story takes place well after the events of other books, you feel like you're missing a rather large piece of the story. Because you are. We are missing at least one book for Dave and one book for Tom. I definitely would have enjoyed this book more if those other two stories were caught up with it. As it is, I don't think I'll read this again until Dave and Tom's stories are caught up. Don't get me wrong, I like Roland, I like the family he is building and I enjoyed this story, but as I said, I won't read it again until the rest of the overall tale catches up with it.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
In a book that purports to be about liberation and openness, Marilyn Foxworthy has written one more harem book, in which women become fulfilled by being the shared wives of a single, very entitled, man. All of the women are D-cups or larger, because that’s apparently what men are supposed to want. There’s a lot of pseudo-intellectual talk about how wonderful it all is, and how the universe is making it all happen by drawing these people to one another (the three women attached to the protagonist just happen to turn out to be related to the women attached to another man (who has seven wives and if a billionaire). It’s not worth the time it takes to read— I found myself skipping over large sections.
Marilyn, you are my new favorite author. As a Ni- Dan in Wado Ryu, I studied martial arts for over 12 years and my sensei introduced me to mindfulness. Your complicated plot and characterizations are delicious. I feel like you were writing just for me. (I hope that’s every author’s goal). Please accept my congratulations and respect for your work. By the way, I will now read everything you’ve ever written. All the best.
Tightly written, with much sexuality, but surprisingly no raunch. Ms. Goldsworthy covers a lot of bases with ease, delicately explaining multiple types of honestly true, caring individuals that are learning to be more caring and loving every minute. A good read !
Ms Foxworthy has done it again. But those of us regular readers never expected anything less. As all of the main characters continue to hone their relationships they almost constantly find new things about each other to explore and as usual, the sex is fabulous! Thank you Marilyn for another wonderful story!
Thank you for teaching me how to be a better husband friend to my wife of 42 years. Please don't take to long in putting out any of your series. They always teach me something new and positive about being a better person.
Marilyn has the unparalleled ability to write sexy yet very respectful stories. I very much enjoy them. When I finish one book, I immediately look for the next one in all of the series that she has simultaneously underway.
Like her great sci-fi Eevona,Marilyn knows how to relate with a group of like minded people. Not many understand the complexity and dynamics of true love, relationships and sex
This book was Awsome she brought back some of my favorite people. Brought tears to my eyes when she introduced the caught to the mom's.can't wait for more
I have enjoyed this wonderful fun adventure of Roland and how he meets his three wives. I like seeing some people from books that I have readed before.
I read both these Honest Attractions books which were recommends that introduced me to Marilyn Foxworthy. Really enjoyable, risqué & interesting stories.
