‘Remember the word focus. That’s the secret.’

Author Mark McCoy subtitles his book ‘Unique secrets of a former CIA agent,’ and that summarizes the direction of this, his debut book. Though from the Introduction we learn a bit more: Mark is fifty-seven years old, retired after serving as a senior agent in the CIA for thirty years as an operations officer, and in his latter days with CIA he served as a mentor and personal educator to many senior agents who regard him as a ‘Master of Life.’ Mark’s concept: ‘Real professionalism only comes through systematic action on three fronts – man versus himself, man versus life, and man versus others.’

Mark opens his book in a very casual manner, but his thoughts are solid. ‘I took upon myself a mission to help you be the perfect man. Insomuch as is possible, of course. I’m going to deal with you. You’re the subject. Take it seriously. Me lightly. I’m here for you. I’m not the hero of this book. You’re the hero. …I’m going to give you tools, knowledge and insight that will improve your abilities in everything that’s connected to you. If you follow even some of the tips that I give you, your life is going to change…’

The promises Mark makes in helping to become the perfect man are kept: likely everyone who hears about this book will want to read it, learn from it, and apply it. He makes that venture easy, by peppering his text with some fine visuals, and by always keeping the tenor light. Contemporary jargon makes the information he offers more immediately accessible. Phrases such as ‘Life is a movie. It’s a fact, not a philosophical axiom. There’s something in our personality that enables us to risk our lives until death. It’s not heroism, it’s genetic flow.’ ‘Take care of your body before it ends up in a body bag.’ And more and more.

This casual, blunt, entertaining writing style fits Mark’s mission well. His advice is sound, credible, challenging, embarrassing at times, but always on point. This is a book that can be read for many reasons – laugh out loud humor, sensitive insights, curiosity, one-ups-man-ship, need, perspicacity – but the generous nature of Mark’s mentoring is valid and valuable, through all the many situations he addresses. This book is bound to be a success!

Focus. Remember the word focus. That’s the secret...

Author Mark McCoy writes an impressive debut novel that is much needed in today's world. It’s a down-to-earth and witty guide for men of all ages. In this book, he outlines the basic etiquette and protocol that will help you to refine your social grace and improve your impression on everyone.

The book description speaks for itself: ‘Mark McCoy, CIA agent and chief commander in the agency’s training academy, retired from his job after twenty-five years of non-stop action. Thanks to the nature of his role, Mark became an expert in coping within every imaginable area of life, starting from how to charm a woman all the way to gaining entry to any place in the world—from a sold-out rock concert to the most exclusive by-invitation-only parties.

For years he watched worthy men being embarrassed by social interaction, afraid of complex situations and most of all, not able to realize their full potential.

Now, having left the organization, McCoy has decided it is time to share the vast knowledge he has accumulated with the rest of the male world.

The Ultimate way to become the perfect man is the guide for you to learn how to get on like a king in every corner of the world, what to do in complicated situations, how to make new friends and earn their trust, how to win over the hearts of the women around you, with added tips that will make your partner happy and proud to be seen with you.’

In today's fast paced world, it is easy to forget some of the common courtesies that should be basic and non-negotiable. Unfortunately, many people appear to have forgotten the manners that were taught to them by their parents. Sadly, others do not appear to have ever been taught any manners at all. So, the author discusses etiquette that will surely help you succeed anywhere. It’s not hard to behave in a socially correct way. However, the masses seem to think that, having a bit of decorum is "old fashioned". Clearly, this is not true. If people would just take a few moments to review the basic rules of good etiquette they will find that it would help them not only in their personal lives, but in their business relations as well.

The Ultimate way to become the perfect man

Wow. This is honestly a okay book, but in a couple parts it was funny. This literally is a book about tips and tricks to become the "Perfect Man". Each chapter talks about a different subject pretty much and has a story attached once in a while. Not very interesting because I'm a woman. Though some of the tricks, and trips like protection actually good ideas. This is a great book for a boy becoming a man.

Good book for men

Didn’t agree with everything he said. Written for men living in a city setting. Not much of the advice applies to men living in a rural setting unless they travel. Still, I’d say it’s a good read.

Wow, this is one of the most informative and detailed accounts of how to do something that I have ever read. Author covers the things we wonder about, shy away from and even help you rethink the things you think you are doing right. I think we all should be more observant and he lays out some of ways to guide you. Love the safety suggestions, relationship advise and recipes ideas. Great reading material choice for not only men whether grown or think they are grown know it alls to read but it opens the door for women to get a bit more insight for what to look for in a man. He covers it all from A to Z. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.
