This is quite a comprehensive narration of Guru Gobind Singh Ji's life and times as the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. It is brilliant in the fact that it demythologizes the hagiographical perspective on the Guru which has been otherwise popularized throughout the Sikh world.
However, Gandhi falls in the same trap as Kartar Singh. He relies on sources without reassessing them. Some sources are authentic; some are hearsay. Overall, this is a fresh retake on the Guru's life though the paucity of sources renders it repetitive.
