Rivers is one of the units in the new Cambridge Primary Geography series, which has been written to cover the places, themes and skills identified by the revised national curriculum at key stage 2. Each unit in the series is written around a main geographical enquiry and provides pupils with the knowledge, concepts and skills to complete their investigation. Rivers introduces children to both the processes and environmental aspects of this thematic study. It looks at rivers on a range of scales and in a variety of contexts in countries including the United Kingdom, United States, China, Germany and Africa. The Teacher's Book provides background information and a description of the work involved in each unit of the pupil's book. It also includes photocopiable worksheets which support or extend the enquiry, suggestions for further and cross-curricular work, and advice on assessment and reporting.
