"Every racing fan knows that the most demanding of all auto races are those on the Grand Prix circuit. In 1969 Jackie Stewart won over half of them, firmly establishing himself as the world champion race driver. Stewart takes the reader into the colorful world of big-time motor racing as he tells the stories behind the races and reveals the people behind the stories. ... Most of all, this is the story of that incredible 1969 season, from South Africa to Mexico."

Well written. It tells the story of a young formula one driver and his love for driving and rifle shooting. Stewart went from frustrated school years due to dislexia, to a complete success in sports driving. Thanks to his father's gas staion business back in Scotland, Jackie managed to get involved in all mechanical aspects of cars. Driving first in tourist class, he escalated tomformula three, then formula two and finally into formula one, deiving and in hand with Jim Clark, Another scottish jewel of driving. This books is an inspiring quest for succes in one of the most dangerous sports there is.
