A robbery that takes a deadly turn. A stone circle with an attitude. And a new shade of fur for Wiggles. Just what is going on in Willow Tree Falls?
Tempest Crypt is on a mission to throw Granny Dottie an incredible birthday party. Along with her sister, Aurora, they’ve organized a surprise opera performance from Granny Dottie’s favorite performer, Bathsheba Delaware.
When a robbery takes place, and Bathsheba is killed, everyone is shocked. Most of all, the ancient and powerfully magical stone circle, that witnessed the killing. And when the stone circle in Willow Tree Falls gets angry, people need to run.
Secrets, lies, and deceit stand in Tempest’s way as she tries to figure out why the stone circle is so unhappy. Could it be that Bathsheba’s murder wasn’t so straight forward?
She must tackle secretive assistants, a bitter singing rival, and two uncooperative thieves to get to the truth. Plus, a dangerous stone circle that seems intent on inflicting serious harm on the villagers.
And when Bandit gets sick, and Wiggles turns purple, Tempest knows she has a challenge on her hands.
If she fails to figure out who really killed Bathsheba, the very fabric of Willow Tree Falls could be torn apart if the stone circle remains angry.
Join Tempest and Wiggles and meet a host of quirky magic-using characters in this paranormal mystery series, where nothing is quite what it seems.

This is an entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series. A great cast of characters and an entertaining and slightly darker storyline. There is a small supernatural town surrounded by a magical barrier that lets no humans in. There is a family of witches who guard a demon prison that is beneath the local cemetery. The crypt witches are that family. The two youngest on their own businesses in town and one of them is also a rogue demon hunter. She leaves the magical town on occasion to chase down and hunt for rogue demons causing problems in the rest of the world. She has a hell hound for a pet Who stays in the magical town when she is outside of it. Her sister owns the local potions and basically generally magic items store. Angels or the police force in the town. On occasion our rogue demon hunter helps the angels solve their mysteries as well. It’s a very entertaining series that on occasion gets a bit dark but not in a bad way. It is a very entertaining series and a fun read. Check it out
A well-meant gift gone awry becomes inanimate stones run amok...just another day in the life of Tempest Crypt! While this is a fun read, the the story is unnecessarily convoluted; shouldn't rocks capable of throwing such hissy fits at the innocent be just as capable of serving justice to the guilty? Just sayin'... And the Daddy issue has dragged on for long enough! There's a familiar surprise, and it does look like more surprises may be headed toward this family...
Just when I think the author has worked out the kinks for this series - the bad flares again. Seriously, the relationship between the lead Angel and Tempest is ridiculous after 9 books. It makes no logical sense. And for someone that wants to keep their SO - isn’t it odd that not once did she seem concerned about him as the entire town is threatened???? Seriously - ridiculous! I’m too invested to not read the next book. But I’m seriously disappointed with this book.
Tempest has to solve the murder of an opera singer. Tempest has her hands full dealing with the problem of the magic stones protecting her town, as well. There are many suspects and motives. There are surprises in the plot.
rehash of Father Brown mystery with Witches and Angels.
Disappointed in this book. The story is a duplicate of a Father Brown mystery except this story has Witches and Angels. The Murderers were even the same.
Once again, Karen O'Connor had had me laughing out loud with her humorous writing skills. Yes another enjoyable and entertaining book in this quirky paranormal mysteries series. Excellent!!!
I don’t know how, but this series just keeps getting better! This book had me glued to the pages. I had to keep going to get to the end, but then, hated that it ended! On to the next!
Tempest and Wiggles are back and this time, someone has murdered a famous singer who had many enemies. Wiggles stole the show and he was just hilarious. The mystery was well written and I enjoyed it.
A decent read. The mystery of the dead opera singer was just mediocre and it would have been obvious which suspect/s had the most motive plus the fact that the stone circle kept acting up was a big give away. The characters, although it was good to catch up with them, seemed to be stagnanting although Bandit was a delightful surprise. Her sarcastic dialogue is a nice counterpart to Wiggles and it will be good to see the future fights between them. Although that isn't likely in the next book. All in all an entertaining read but more of a hold read rather then one that moves forward.
Another wonderful witchy mystery! As a birthday gift, Aurora has arranged a concert by her grandmother's favorite opera singer, to be set near the stone circle. When the singer is killed within feet of the circle, all he'll breaks loose. The stones are angry and want the murderer punished, and won't stop causing magical chaos until they are. I hope there are more books to come in this series, it is excellent!
