Ingrid was born to live alone and in fear. She grew as best she could within her parent’s toxic marriage, surviving with only her thoughts for company. Until one day at the age of 9 years old a teenage predator masquerading as a babysitter ended whatever was left of her childhood. From that point on Ingrid was focused only on surviving. After a failed attempt at a runaway with her friend Lily, she realized she must stay with her Mother and Brother to help them navigate the exit of their troubled Father from their lives. As an adult Ingrid became reasonably successful in her chosen career. She guarded her soul and her well-being, after all, she had earned the freedom, until she unwittingly allowed another predator into her World, one that was stealthy and cunning. A narcissist, who would take pleasure in dis-assembling the safe place she had created for herself, and just when she hoped she’d ‘thought’ her way out of it, she became trapped in his cruel and unforgiving World by pregnancy. In the grips of his final brutal act Ingrid finds herself making a choice between what is easy, and what is right.
