I love the rhythm and rhyme of this story. A child imagines what it would be like if it snowed inside the house. He imagines lots of snowy friends and snowy activities. In the end, he is happy to be snug inside his bed and thinks that maybe it is better that snow stays outside.

The illustrations are a little strange and the book is kind of small, but other than that I really liked it. It would be great to use for a small preschool storytime. Because the book is little, it might not work for larger crowds.

While the text suggests a charming, whimsical world (and really has some lovely cadences), the illustrations are positively nightmarish, and ruin what could have been an excellent contribution to the winter children's canon.
