No fraternizing with the players. That’s the rule. Too bad our stud QB just happens to be my ex-boyfriend and the star of all my fantasies.
Madison
All my life I’ve worked my ass off to follow in my father’s footsteps and become the owner of the Orlando Hurricanes.
But my father’s old cronies are trying to stop me. They are searching for any excuse to boot me out the door. Who knew football’s front office could be so brutal?
Our franchise player is the love of my life, and I’m dying to rekindle my relationship with him.
This going to be a major challenge. Staying away from him will be next to impossible.
One wrong move, and I could lose everything.
Bryce
Madison Charles broke my heart, and now I’m going to ruin her.
There’s no way I’m standing by and letting her become my boss.
If anyone is going to do the dominating around here, it will be me.
It’s going to be fun taking her to bed and leaking it to the press.
I’m going to love every minute of it.
There’s no way she’s worming her way back into my heart. Ever.
But if there’s one thing sports has taught me, it’s never to say never.
Bad, really bad Update: I just wanted to take a second to warn other readers to be careful when buying a book by this author. There is an extreme lack of integrity. They only allow positive reviews. I have had my Amazon account for over 10 and never had an experience like this. Somehow they were able to get my review removed and myself blocked from posting on this book (and probably anyone else who didn’t leave a positive review as well ). I find this incredibly dishonest and didn’t even know it was possible. I have contacted customer service, they are working on it and I am filing a complaint. To only allow positive reviews is fraudulent. I wouldn’t even be aware for this trickery if not far a friend I was discussing the book and her stating that it only had good reviews. I went back to check and low and behold, yep they somehow figured out a way to trick the system. Just so incredibly sad. If you cannot handle criticism, you aren’t ready for the real word. You surely shouldn’t be able to defraud readers who are looking to spend their hard earned money on a book that they will actually enjoy. Shame on you!
Not only is this book just not very well written, the heroine is awful! She hardly has any redeeming qualities. She selfish, self absorbed, and has some other downright narcissistic personality traits. Very rarely do I hate the heroine. This is actually only one of maybe two times I can recall rating a book “one star” due to the heroine. I read the blurb but I assumed there was a reasonable explanation for her behavior and the guy was being the jerk. No, definitely not. In fact as the book goes on you realize she just keep unfolding more layers to her awfulness. Not only do you realize she broke his heart, but you realize she did it knowing she was doing it and not caring. She rationalized to herself that it made more sense. You realize she dumped him for absolutely no reason, as they could have made their relationship work while both achieving their dreams (there are actually about 10 reasons why her dumping him made no sense, but I don’t I need to make that point over absence over again). You realize that while he basically pined for her, she didn’t him. She pretty much jumped right in bed with guy after guy, embracing casual sex. What’s worse she basically threw that in his face later (unprovoked), when she could have at least spared his feelings given what she had put him through. He wrote her these sweet letters telling her how much he loved her and asking her to reconsider, after she had dumped him, she didn’t care. She accepted his marriage proposal, and waits for the last possible moment to let him know that she is dumping him. She didn’t do one thing to show the reader she even respected or valued him let alone loved him! She wanted him, when she wanted him. That was all. I don’t blame Bryce for coming up with that idea. I wish he would have gone through with it or dumped her. The only reason thing that he did wrong was loving someone that didn’t deserve it. It’s hard to believe that the same authors wrote both of these characters. I won’t be reading anything by her/them again.
Madison has inherited her father’s football team, but to become a full owner in she will have to get the go-ahead from the board. She also will have to face her past in the form of a hot football player, Bryce, her ex, whom she has not seen for a decade and with whom she was going to marry but whom she left for get to where she is today. As soon as Bryce sees her, he wants to pick it up where they left off, but they face a problem and that is that it is forbidden for the staff to fraternize with each other. If they catch Madison with Bryce, she will lose the team and she doesn’t want to lose the legacy that her father left her and her little brother William. But the old feelings come back stronger than before and Madison and Bryce start a secret relationship. But problems will start to appear and they will have to face a tough decision if they want to be together in the end: either Madison quits the team or Bryce gets trade. It’s a funny, sexy and entertaining story.
Madison Charles dreamed of owning the Orlando Hurricanes pro football team. Her father successfully ran the team and that was the life she wanted. It became her goal to get her law degree, her MBA and then, upon her father's passing, assume her rightful ownership. With a Board of Trustees running the team now, she would have to prove to them that, beyond a doubt, she was ready for the job. Bryce Willheight is the star quarterback of the Hurricanes and Madison's college boyfriend. His whole life, he dreamed of playing professional football and going early in the draft. They planned a future together before their goals clashed. They split ten years ago when her ambition forced her to "let him go." She thought it best that they concentrate on their goals, not each other, and Bryce walked away from her. Now, after all these years, they are back in the same city, same facility and each other's lives. Sparks fly when they see each other for the first time and they're the very same sparks from college. Nothing has changed! Neither one fell out of love with the other and this could present a challenge. She has signed a contract that prevents her from becoming involved with any member of the team or staff. If not messy, it certainly turns things crazy as she and Bryce try to navigate a relationship without getting caught. There are people around her who want to see her fail in her quest for ownership. Jealousy, treachery and conniving try to take them both down, but life has a way of making things right, the way they should be. The journey is exciting, maddening, loving, sweet and there's no doubt that Bryce and Mads deserve every bit of their HEA. The epilogue ties this story together in a truly satisfying sense! This is the first book in the Inherit Love series and I'm anxious to see what McKenna James has next on the horizon. I highly recommend this excellent book!
McKenna James, I would personally like to thank you for the release of this book.
I do not know much about Football, but what I do know... is great romance. This release has just that, in spades. Bryce and Madison have always been meant to be. After 10 years apart, nothing has changed, they are still a perfect match. They still love one another, with every part of their heart and soul. Getting their happily ever after, however, is more difficult than it should be. I encourage all fans of romance, to follow along, as these two defy the odds stacked against them, to get exactly what they deserve... Each Other. Exquisitely Written Romance Right Here.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced readers of Inheritance Goals in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion and I highly recommend reading this book as well as anything she publishes.
Madison has been working her whole life for this moment, when she can take over the Orlando Hurricanes since the passing of her father. She has sacrificed everything for this, and now the Board wants her out. Not only that, her ex, Bryce, is the teams' start player. Though she broke his heart by leaving, she still loves him. Bryce is both angered and excited to see her and can't help the feelings that come rushing back. They must deal with company rules, the Board and backstabbing employees to finally admit they still love each other and find a way to be together. Great story!
Sometimes, the real world knocks you down. Their love wasn’t enough . She is the team’s new owner; he’s the star QB. When they meet again, time stops for a moment. It’s impossible for them to be together.
