"A fascinating treatment of a hard-to-research subject. In brief 1-4 page sections, the author covers each mention of women in this talmudic section. Both positive and negative, specific and general female occurences are covered, with sociological and historical context as well as religious law commentary. A valuable addition to any Jewish woman or girl's library"

This is an essential book for anyone studying Judaism and Talmud, particularly if they are interested in the position of women in rabbinic Judaism. Wonderful book!
