I was sent this book to review and I didn't really know what to expect at first. I haven't read up on spirituality too much, but I can say that this book wasn't at all what I was expecting.

The author goes into details about a shift of consciousness in the world after the alignment of the Earth has changed. She cross references this with knowledge of the Mayans to basically suggest that their end of the world prediction of 2012 was actually a prediction about a shift in consciousness.

Later the book describes how we are all split into two entities. Our ego, which is our physical form and our higher self, which is our Devine consciousness. She then gives the reader a list of suggestions on how to reconnect with your higher self and obtain the consciousness we need to fulfil our purpose.

I found it really interesting to explore these theories and I have taken many noted to continue reading further into them. My only gripe is that sometimes the author begins to explain something, only to then suggest that the reader Googles to find out more about it. It would probably be better to simply summarise these explanations instead of telling readers they have to do search online for more information. Besides that I found the information interesting.

The thing about these books on spiritual awakenings is that they make perfect sense when I'm fully immersed in them and it's like all the secrets of the universe are just right there ready for me to just open my mind to them... but then I close the book and go about my day-to-day life and it all goes poooooof. What did I just read? And heaven forbid that I try to explain any of this stuff to another human being because I'm all like: "Well, it's like... uh... I mean... it's kind of like... ummmm. Yeah." So that's probably all you're going to get out of this review is a lot of ummms and stutters.

This spirit is a work in progress, ya'll.

This book reached me through a complicated route (there are no straight lines in life) and within a few pages, I knew it was a book I needed to keep and refer back to often to understand on a deeper level.
Eventually, Christine Hoeflich mentions her 'background of material science and engineering from Cornell University' which could frighten some readers but to me emphasised her clear thinking, analytical and questioning mind and the tremendous amount of research done on our behalf. Her first book had previously only been available on her www but this updated version on Kindle 2017 can now reach a far greater audience.
The book explains what you need to know and empowers you to move forward quickly in your spiritual awakening process and Christine tells us 'Your soul will always learn and grow.' which I find very reassuring.
To do this we need to awaken the powers of the shaman inside of us and find our 'oneness within' which she has worked on for over 15 years has been very influenced by Father Moore (sadly deceased) and his book Synthesis Remembered.
Including such fascinating topics such as the Mayan Long Count calendar established about 335 BCE and the fact that modern astronomers both professional and amateur use the zodiac as a guide to finding celestial objects in the night sky, and so much more, we are prompted to do our own research in order to further understand.
This great book is easy to understand as mankind, and each individual in that group needs to wake up to the deeper truths and the hidden truths of our history.

According to author, Christine Hoeflich, we are at a crossroads of change - a switch from the Age of Darkness to an Age of Enlightenment, where individuals are beginning to get in touch with their higher self. As this higher self is realized, an individual's life purpose is understood, and all of life's trials and tribulations are understood to be part of the Divine Plan to help an individual grow. In fact, each person supposedly chooses these trials before joining in the "Earth Game."

Interspersed in all of this are references to the Mayans, the infamous December 21, 2012 date, Atlantis, a "Galactic Federation," and a "Counsel of Light." As a reader not subscribing to New Age beliefs, I find these concepts a little odd. There are also a couple of suggestions for how to get in touch with your higher self. One of which is to focus on your heart and solar plexus while tracing an infinity circle over both. Perhaps this works. Perhaps it doesn't. For those who accept the ideas in this book, there may be positive results. Believing that our difficulties make us stronger and that we selected them ourselves might give someone strength to make it through them and know that things will be all right.

This is a book for people who subscribe to New Age beliefs. If a reader is not part of that market, there probably won't be much benefit from reading it.

I was asked to read this book and write a review. First, I have to say that this book isn't exactly what I was thinking it would be. That's not a bad or good thing, just a thought I had while reading. The writing of this book was pretty good, especially for someone who isn't a professional writer. I was impressed!
I would love to believe most of the content of this book. While I'm not sure if I do believe at this point, since I have not yet tried any of these methods, I am going to keep an open mind and see! Hopefully I will reach my higher potential.
However, I don't think the author should have brought Jesus and all of the biblical history into this. As she stated through the book, she isn't a biblical scholar. I understand needing some history, but the biblical parts honestly just distracted me. I'm not sure if I agree with those, and for me it makes believing the rest of it a little challenging (though as stated above, I'm open and willing to try!). I also don't really like all of the brackets she puts. This is just personal preference, but to me it upsets the flow of the book.
Overall, the book is interesting and I'm glad I had the chance to read it!

I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

I was excited to receive this book, as I've been doing a lot of shamanic reading lately, but I just can't get into this one. I really appreciate the books that give both firsthand accounts and well-researched info sourced back to scholarly articles. This book doesn't offer that. When bringing up “what makes me qualified to write this book”, what is actually offered seems to be “I studied with a priest I really liked and read a whole lot of stuff on the internet. If you, too, would like to know more about all the internet stuff I read, google -Such & Such-.”

Okay, so no footnotes or sources in the back. I thought maybe I just had a personal peeve about repeatedly being told to google this or that for further info – it's a 90 page book; why not include any pertinent info? I still stuck with it and tried to give an honest-to-goodness shot.

I'm way more woo-woo than your stereotypical hippie or new ager or whatever you want to call it, but I spent the first 25% of the book either frowning or rolling my eyes at harping on the importance of Dec. 21, 2012 (which did offer a look at interesting astrological symbolism if you like that kind of thing), our Founding Fathers, shilling her mentor's books, channeled information from the “Galactic Federation” and others, politics (which I am actively avoiding at the moment)... Once we reached conjecture about Atlantis and she introduced the channeled Counsel of Light, I had to admit that I'm personally not going to get anything from this book, and I wish what I'd read had actually been about shamanism. I did a quick flip through the rest of the book, and it seems full of new agey buzz words but little enough substance. I'm sorry I couldn't offer a better review, but perhaps I'm just not the right market for this one.

I really enjoyed reading this book. And, I suspect all fans of the Self-Improvement genre will love having a nibble on this one also! This is my second time reading this author and I must say I was very impressed yet again. Having read her first book, Reconnected: A Spiritual Awakening Memoir, I was looking forward to this new offering. I’m glad to say the author delivered and I wasn’t disappointed.

The Spiritual Awakening Process: Coming Out of the Darkness and Into the Light is a very well written life improvement book. This book is intelligent, wise and packed to the rafters with practical common sense advice. It becomes very obvious as you read through this page turner that the author is imparting her wisdom and understanding as to what happiness and success really means. It’s an excellent guide for putting things into perspective.

Profound thoughts are explained here in the most simple manner. That's all one can say about this book. It is difficult to write a more objective review, because the impact the author will have on you will make you see life and its problems in a wise and practical way. The book should NOT be read - it should be absorbed and reflected upon.

This book has helped me clarify my thinking, process my feelings, and make better decisions. If you are you ready to stop drifting and design a life you love, this read with help you on your journey. The author has put her heart in the pages of this book that will encourage and give hope to the reader. So many wonderful and courageous people share their experiences through books, and I thank this author for sharing hers. While I personally believe that everybody’s spiritual journey is as unique as our DNA, some parts of the book I am in agreement with, while other’s I’m not. However, there are, I believe, interconnections between every living thing on this planet that makes each journey and opinion worthwhile as long as it leads ultimately to peace and harmony.

The overall tone was simply imparting knowledge, personal experience and wisdom in a gentle and generous way. Her words will help to better equip you to interpret and handle life in a whole new way, which in turn will bring peace, love and joy into your life. If you are looking for inspiration and encouragement in the face of serious issues, this would come highly recommended from me.

No matter what your situation is today, this book will put you on the right path to better things. I’ve been around the block a few times myself and even I found this read to be very insightful. This wonderful book will show you how to properly tune into life and the simple rules you must follow to achieve this. This by far is one of the best Self-Improvement books I’ve read in a long time. The author must be commended for her time and effort for producing such an insightful book. Also, the writing style is welcoming which makes for an enjoyable read.

The author states in the description that, “Although humanity has reached a defining point in our spiritual history, the fact that our world is changing from the Age of Darkness to the Age of Light at this very moment is not yet widely known. This transition comes on the heels of generations devoid of the intuition and internal powers that can be activated within ourselves by using both sides of the brain in tandem.”The book ...“explores and supports our individual journeys towards consciousness and helps us claim our birthright of vital shamanic powers and deep, intuitive wisdom.”

You’ll discover the true meaning of the Great Shift in Consciousness and the coming Age of Light. It will not only help you understand, but also fully engage in, the worldwide spiritual awakening currently taking place... “Vibrant, evocative, and carefully detailed, The Spiritual Awakening Process speaks to the shaman in all of us, guiding us towards our divine purpose so that we may each become the master of our lives and by so doing, usher in a world of peace, harmony and joy...”

The Spiritual Awakening Process: Coming Out of the Darkness and Into the Light is a wonderful read that will leave you feeling like a better person for having read it. It's an impressive work from author Christine Hoeflich and I'll certainly be looking forward to reading more from her in the future. A well deserved five stars from me.

I would highly recommend this insightful, perceptive and intuitive read.
