J.L. Wilder likes wild things! Her alpha shifters are gruff and tough, with a pinch of tenderness. Curl up with these bad boy book boyfriends, and they will have you howling at the moon!
When not writing shifter smut, J.L. spends as much time as possible exploring the outdoors. She loves getting into trouble with Ace, her Siberian Husky.
It had so much potential and fell flat. I never am one to complain about grammar or spelling mistakes but I could not get over the fact that character names were constantly misspelled or completely wrong. That’s a big problem. Jack was often called Jake several times and Marx was spelled Marc a few times. Just drove me crazy because it seems super sloppy and rushed when mistakes like that are made.
The relationship development among characters was also lacking. Like A LOT. One second they’re meeting and having this intense physical connection and then you hear barely anything about the two characters interacting and then we’re expected to understand why they are getting feelings for each other when it’s never even really brought up or shown past an initial spark. I could be mistaken but the only time the characters even said the “I love you” phrase was in the very last scene.
I finished it but I did tons of skimming as I went just to make it more bearable.
I couldn't put it down! I know a lot of ppl didn't like her just getting on with a guy she just met but u got to realize that in the animal kingdom they do just Get it on when they attracted each other. It normal for them. This is a shifter novel after all. Plus I have a friend who was a virgin at 19 and she only knew the guy for not even a week and she just did it. So it shows it can happen. That being said I thought it was a great read. I was cheering her all the way and loved her character. Loved that all three men had a different vibe to them and how they came to fall in love with her. The villain I couldn't wait for his ass to be handing to him. I hated that guy so much. She went from being weak to becoming a strong women ready to kill for what she wants to protect. Like I said it was a great read and I couldn't put it down until I knew what happened next.
This story good. I didnt know it was a reverse harem when I started it but I guess that I should have known by the cover. Nevertheless it was intresting. I wish it would have gone into the development of their individual relationship though. And them working as a group. I was also surpised that there wasnt sex scenes every other chapter like some reverse harems. So that was a nice change. It was also a quick read and the story moves at a fast pace.
There were a lot of grammatical errors. They didn't take away from the story too much. Therr were times when I would have to read a sentence a few times before I understood what she was trying to say.
I know there are 3 other books in this series but I'm not sure I will read them.
Echo is a hybrid, part bear and part wolf. She's with the bear shifter clan with a very vicious and greedy as. He does the traditional ritual to determine the alpha, betas and omega's for make and female. To Echo's chagrin, she's to be his. He goes out to continue celebrating and drinking and when he returns he passes out. Echo heads out and is waylaid by there mean females who are jealous of her. They beat her up and leave her. When she comes to, she leaves taking the alpha's bike. After a couple of hours, she crashes and Jack finds her. From this point on Echo's life takes on a very different path which she embraces. Fantastic read and story. The excitement keeps you enthralled in the story.
Just like the other reviewers- action packed, needed editing (lots) and I have never seen the word "prick" used so much in a book. I counted 10 times in 1 love scene.
And WHY are they always so freakin' shocked when she turns up pregnant when there has been no contraceptive talk or use??? I hate it when the heroine is so naïve. It would be different if they had the talk and were ok with it. And she was so gullible when it came to the women in the pack- that was a bit too much to believe.
Anyway, choppy writing, especially with that last tub scene with the guys. Its was like "you there, do this" not natural or pleasant at all. 3 men 3 babies, what are the odds? Total miss for me.
It was an okay story. The author seems to forget a lot of what happens and how the folklore of the world works. There are also quite a few spelling and grammar mistakes. I will say that it was an interesting enough story, but it had a lot of cliche moments and it didn't seem to know how it wanted to end.
Story had amazing promise, concept was great, characters had so much potential, but I couldn’t get connected with them. Time jumps left me confused, at one point a clan was described as a bear clan but later as a wolf clan. At 75% I gave up and DNF.
"I’m a half-breed. Lower than dirt. All my life, the Hearteaters MC have treated me like a dog. Now they expect me to mate their Alpha. Carry his cubs? Be his Omega? The wolf in me, will never submit to his bear." Really good, unpredictable, and kept my interest. Many twists and turns.
So, I have read a good amount of books by this author but I feel like this book just didn’t display her talent of making the book come to life. This book didn’t have the same draw and interest that a few of the others did. I would give this a 3.9
Enjoyed each chapter, each character. Story built chapter after chapter, character after character. Would like follow ups with other clan alphas and their omegas
Echo knew she didn't belong with the Hearteaters. As a hybrid she was tormented by the others and was never allowed her freedom to do anything. When fates revealed she was to be Stone's omega, she was afraid. That night he drank so much and pasted out. She saw her chance and she ran. She knew they would be after her. Jack found her unconscious and feels protective of her. He kills a Hearteater that finds them so he takes her to where he lives with two others. Mace and Cutter are upset at first but then they feel protective of her as well. A war is coming but who will win? She has feelings for all three, what will each have to say about it? Will Stone and the Hearteaters fine her? Will they kill her knew protectors? I am leaving this review for having received the ARC but I do so gladly because this story is a great read. The story flows easily and you will want to keep reading until you are finished. You will not be disappointed with this book.
Bought From KINDLE UNLIMITED Title: The Omega Hybrid Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: J.L. Wilder Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Serial: Standalone, No Cliffhanger Genre: #PRN #Alpha #Hybrid #5Stars🌟⭐🌟🌟🌟 •••••••••••••• 💢This book is definitely an action packed adventure. Definitely a must read!
🔹️Echo Wilson is Hybrid Shifter in the Hearteater Clan. No one liked her, everyone was mean to her, abused her because she was a Hybrid. Worst of all she just became Omega to the cruel abusive, Alpha. Not by tradition by his wants whatever he wanted she better do it, if she didn’t he would beat her until she was close to death. There was no one, no allies to protect her
🔹️Jack, Mace and Cutter are WolfShifters who came together after running away from three different clans. Things were peaceful considering there status. Until Jack brought back what he found in the woods.
I loved the intensity of this book, one of JL's specialties. Everyone who is a shifter lover wouldn't want to miss this one. Not giving any spoilers away. Read, Read, Read !!!
I really enjoyed reading this paranormal reverse harem shifter romance. The characters are interesting & strong-willed with realistic emotions & expectation. I found the story-line and plot fascinating & well-paced, it definitely kept my attention. There is: a feisty young omega female hybrid (Echo Wilson), a cruel controlling alpha (Stone) of the Hearteater Clan, the three rogue alpha wolf shifters (Jack, Cutter & Mace) she gets involved with, Bear shifters, wolf shifters, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, drama, pack issues, conflict, violence, manipulations, devious plans, attractions, verbal conflict, confusion, complications, memories, confrontations, surprises, contentment, love & a wonderful happy epilogue.
I loved this reverse harem book. Especially when the female is Echo. A hybrid both bear and wolf and maybe with that something special. The clan she has been with since she was born is not really her clan, they treat her like the outsider she feels she is. Now her worst nightmare is happening. The Alpha, Stone, is the such a horrible male, a blood thirsty, power hungry, and she has been chosen to be his mate. For Echo it is time to go. She meets not one but three Alphas living together with pasts all their own. Jack,Cutter, and Mace knew the isolation would end eventually and now it is over echo. The strongest pack in the area wants her back and will go to war to do it. Such an amazing story, great characters, and the story is exciting and amazing, and the writing is great. Loved the HEA.
Riveting and So Much More!! Who knew being a Omega hybrid could bring such anguish in the begining and finish on such a perfect love triangle so to speak. Nice.
Come meet Jack, Mace and Cutter, 3 alpha wolves, as the help Echo find her place in their world and show her what being a Omega should be. They should be treasured not beaten down into submission.
Great storyline and characters.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Reviewer for Nook Books and More Blog.
Echo 3 ½ stars - This is the second book on omega romance that I’ve read. I’ve learned that omega hybrids like Echo may have special abilities compared to the regular hybrids. Although, their purpose in the pack is the same - for breeding with the alpha. Echo is trying to escape the disgusting alpha Stone and ended up imprinted with three alphas - Jack, Cutter and Mace. The book has a decent story. It has action, steamy sex, violence and interesting characters. I like it that Echo’s character fights and is not that helpless. I do wish that Echo’s parentage was expounded on. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
Echo never really felt she belonged to the Hearteaters clan. They took she and her mother in when they had no where to go. But the clan ignored her and treated her like a freak because she was part wolf and part bear shifter. But Stone the alpha of the Hearteaters knows she is special because of being a hybrid and tries to force her to be his omega. But Echo escapes and finds herself living with three strong, handsome, wolf shifters. But what can they do to stop Stone from killing them and taking Echo back?
Echo is the hybrid, part wolf, part bear; and her bear pack alpha is going to use her to breed. When she has the chance she runs, right into one trial after another, only to find herself with three rogue wolves who are willing to fight to keep her. They are offering much more than a job as a baby maker. Once again Echo must gather the courage to take what she wants. Well-drawn characters with varied personalities. The action is fast-paced and sometimes brutal but moves the story along. A good, quick read for those who like reverse harems with strong heroines.
Some of the omega stories have been hard to enjoy with all the abuse. This one was much more balanced than many of the others.
While she faces a terrible future, luckily three other alphas offer her another option.
I liked that all the characters had a part in narrating the story from their point of view. It helps make it easier for me to connect to them and the story.
This was a great read even though it had a few editing errors. Echo was a strong, special young lady who didn't want to spend her life being controlled by a cruel Alpha. When she met Jack, Mace and Cutter wheels were set in motion that would change the history of many clans. I enjoyed the relationship she had with the three guys. The book was intense in spots, a a bit of steam and a very sweet epilogue. The only thing I wish it would have had is the birth of the babies.
