The Alex Harris Mystery #10

Decked: An Alex Harris Mystery

Rate this book
Alex Harris Van Der Burg never expected a trip to the car dealership would lead to murder. All she wanted was an oil change. But when she witnesses a man sending an ominous-sounding text, and then that same evening attends a Christmas party where she sees the body of an elderly woman fall from the balcony of a vacant building, she’s positive the two things are connected—but can she convince the police?

With several year-end business meetings and the impending wedding of her assistant, Millie, to contend with, Alex doesn’t have time for a murder investigation. After all, why would anyone hire a hit man to bump off a septuagenarian? What on earth could the woman have done to anger anyone enough to hire a hitman? Alex’s good friend Annie is more than willing to help find out who killed Martha Saunders, so Alex decides to dive in promising Millie she’ll have the murder solved before the I-dos are spoken. But when the wedding venue cancels at the last minute throwing Millie into hysterics, Alex offers her home as a replacement, and wonders if this time she’s bitten off more than even she can chew.

Join Alex and the cast of characters you’ve come to love in this milestone tenth book in the Alex Harris Mystery series.

From a very young age, I possessed an over-active imagination finding intrigue and mayhem in everyday situations. Take Humpty Dumpty. Everyone thinks he took a great fall, but I'm pretty sure he was pushed.

While living abroad I decided to try my hand writing a mystery and after several months, completed a draft of my first book, ARMED, and moved on to three other books in the series. I grew up in Milford, Connecticut, and my New England roots are never far from my mind so I centered them on the fictional town of Indian Cove, Connecticut, which for some reason looks a lot like Milford! I also include a European connection in each book bringing together my love of both places.

I've been getting some great reviews for ARMED and I'm pleased that people think the family dynamic is what makes the book so appealing. They love my heroine, Alex, and can't wait to read more of her adventures. I hope you'll agree! Enjoy!
