A diverse selection of short quotations (and some long) from English language literature throughout the centuries. Selected on the simple basis that they pleased the author, (Lord) David Cecil, and presented according to themes ranging from Death to Humour to Dressing Tables. Very enjoyable.

A wonderful anthology that I was lucky enough to find second hand on Amazon. I can see myself returning to this to browse through and muse on in old age!
